What is the Gay Straight Alliance?
-The Gay Straight Alliance is a group of people (usually students in high school, but here on the ning now as well!) that provides a safe place for people to talk and support eachother concerning discrimination, violence, and predjusice against gays, lesbians, bisexuals,transgender, or questioning individuals.

What does the Gay Straight Alliance do?
-create safe environments in communities to support each other and learn about homophobia and other oppressions,
-educate the community about homophobia, gender identity, and sexual orientation issues, and
-fight discrimination, harassment, and violence in schools ext.

I think you missed my point. Based on your point it would follow that you can't make any theological judgements, which is plainly ridiculous.

Again, let's make a distinction between religion and people. Yes, many horrible things have been done to homosexuals, women, blacks and any number of other groups of people in the name of religion. But if religion did not exist, the bigotry would find another vehicle.
Humans inherently fear and hate what is different or not understandable to them. Since humans are the day to day administrators of the "church" they will build in their innate bigotries. Just as many secular governments persecuted gays, jews, blacks etc...
Religion does not create these issues. It is hijacked and used as a vehicle to spread them.
