haha. My mom did the same thing. So instead of telling her, I told her that she should just read the books. She ended up reading all the book in about two or three weeks. Now she doesn't ask me questions, so I'm going to be so relieved when the Deathly Hollows movies come out.
the books are better hands down if for no other reason, than because the movies cut out so much detail. and the most wonderful thing about this series is the little details! the books create an entire world. the movies- don't. so yeah, the books are better.
in no way the movie can be better than the book!! well, the first four movies are quite good, the fifth i like much less, but even the fifth movie saves a main idea. but the last movie really sucked..:( titles are similar but the contents..
so comparing the book and the movie, the first one completely wins!
i think that the books are way better than the movies. j.k.r. is such a good author and she portrays a feeling in the books that i think can't be translated into screenplay. im an author so i know. i know that in the movies you can visually see the characters and the meanings in the books, but there's just some things that are better in written work. it also is good because you can put your immagination to work and try to figure out things before you see the movie. thats all :D
