Permalink Reply by Becky Kean on June 20, 2012 at 1:28pm Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes! I went at the end of May and it was absolutely AMAZING! I was there for like 9 hours and could have stayed longer :) I cried because I was so over whelmed and I took over 1000 photos. Also the gift shop is amazing, I had to stop myself from spending every penny that I have in there haha. I won't ruin all of the surprises for you, but if you love Harry Potter you will have one of the best days of your life there :D
Permalink Reply by Maria Jane Bentzen on June 20, 2012 at 2:01pm I'm going there this fall, and I'd like to know - do they have the house ties in the gift shop? I really can't wait to go there. Do you recommend buying the tickets with all the extra stuff or just the regular ones?
Permalink Reply by Becky Kean on June 20, 2012 at 3:29pm Yeah they've got all of the house ties in the gift shop along with all of the house robes, jumpers and other stuff :) I bought the regular tickets because I was buying them for the whole family for Christmas and it was getting expensive; I bought a guide book from the gift shop while I was there, but didn't hire the digital audio guide (I very nearly did, it was a tough decision lol) because I wanted to make sure I saw and photographed everything. Having said that, if I went back I would hire the digital audio guide as I hear it's amazing and Tom Felton narrates it :D I'd definitely recommend the guide book (either with the tickets or from the gift shop), but I can't speak for the audio guide as I didn't have it. Hope that helps in some way :) Whatever you decide, you'll have a brilliant day :)
Permalink Reply by Maria Jane Bentzen on June 25, 2012 at 10:12am Nice! I already know I'm going to spend so much money there...
I think the guide book will be helpful, but perhaps the audio guide will be too much, and perhaps not as good because I'm going there with a friend, so perhaps we wouldn't be able to speak..
But thank you!
Permalink Reply by Tierney Green on July 12, 2012 at 7:19pm I know you made this comment nearly a month ago but I can tell you that the house ties cost £26 (I know this because I wanted one. Bad. But I didn't have £26)
You're going to have a totally awesome time!
Permalink Reply by Hannah Al on June 20, 2012 at 5:58pm Oh, Thank you! I’m really looking forward to it; I'm completely crazy about anything Potter. I’ve wondered about the store, and if it’s big. I’ve been through the store on the net and found out what I want (I think) but I guess it will be more when I'm there. I just hope they have everything :) I think I’m going to take many pictures too! This is the first step, I’m hoping to go to Florida soon ;)
Permalink Reply by Becky Kean on June 21, 2012 at 4:29am Same here, I really want to go to Florida, but I know it'll be a while before I can go. And yeah the store is big and keep an eye out for set pieces in there too :)
Permalink Reply by Maria Jane Bentzen on June 25, 2012 at 10:13am I have to say I'm jealous. Because I live in Denmark, the plane tickets to go to florida alone cost a fortune. But I hope you have a good time!
Permalink Reply by Hannah Al on July 11, 2012 at 2:52pm It’s so expensive, but I'm sure it's worth it!
What do you mean, set pieces? Things that are identical to those used in the movies, or acutely are the things they used? They can’t sell the real tings, can they? Or are they just exhibited? :P
I have found many replicas I want to by though; I think all of them are from Noble Collection :)
Maria, I am from Norway, it is very expensive from here too :/ I haven’t even begun to save, I only dream :) but you could go to London on this trip: D you're even closer than me; D
Permalink Reply by Tierney Green on July 12, 2012 at 7:23pm As in pieces of the real sets- it's things they actually used in the movies. It's extremely cool.
I've actually been on the tour and to the Harry Potter land in Florida (I know I'm so lucky!) so I'll say this- although Harry Potter land was very cool, it needs a few years to really get going. There's not much there at the minute and it was completely packed. You could barely see things and you had to queue just to get in the shops because there were far too many people. The tour, on the other hand, is completely awesome and they stagger the entrances so that it doesn't get too crowded.
They sell exactly the same souvenirs as well, with just a few things exclusive to one or the other.
Permalink Reply by Hannah Al on July 22, 2012 at 6:45am lucky! it is a bit silly that they let in so many in that you can’t look around without having to climb on people xD but it would suck to end up on a waiting list for four years to get into too:P
Permalink Reply by Maria Jane Bentzen on July 19, 2012 at 3:58am Hannah, Glad to hear I'm not alone. And I have a trip to London planned, and I think I'll spend a fortune on Noble collection stuff. How could I not?
When are you going to London?
As for me, Florida's also just a dream. But one day!
