I mainly just have a talent of connecting almost anything to Harry Potter.

The other day, I was talking to a friend about a famous prison... "Y'know... the one in San Francisco Bay? Azkaban?" She just gave me a look, and I realized... "Oh... um... I mean Alcatraz... my bad."

Oh, another note...What kind of nerdy/awesome Harry Potter things have you done?

I love hearing about how this amazing series was introduced into all of our lives! : )
I first heard of it when my third grade teacher began reading it in class (thank you Mrs. Benson!) My sister and I became hooked and we soon corrupted the rest of our family. We've been Harry Potter nerds ever since. So, good luck to everyone just beginning the books, it'll be fun!

My decision to read all of the Harry Potter books three weeks ago may have been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

Yeah! I love it now, (I never hated it or anything), but it still doesn't have that old nostalgic sweetness that some of the other books hold for me.

Goblet of Fire was my favourite before Deathly Hallows came out...but those two are still probably tied.

I started reading HP not to long ago, about three years ago (I'm a newb compared to most of you!)

I read OotP first because it was longer, and I'm a bookworm. I've been reading at an eleventh grade level since third grade.

DH was my favourite, you can tell JKR's writing improved, I was glad I didn't start reading before because I would have had to wait WAY longer for DH then I actually did have to wait.

@Marissa Kusik that makes sense, 5 is the book where things get a whole lot darker. I read 5 when I was 13 or 14 and I remember not being that much into it, it was only when I read it a year or so later that I fell in love with it.

I, personally, don't see 5 as one of my favorites, and I think I know why. I find myself a few years younger than the average nerdfighter (I am fifteen), so that means when book 5 was released, I was nine, and that was the first book I got as soon as it came out. (Amazon delivery that year.) And because it was long awaited, I got my hopes up too much and found the book very "dark". Again, I was nine, and in book five, things get a little more heavy. At least in my view.
Things would probably be extremely different if I were to read them all for the first time now.

Strangely enough, COS was the first HP book I read. Followed by 4 and then 1 and then 3. 3 was my favourite back then but then more books came out and now I'm torn between 5 and 7. 5 is amazing but it's so rare to find people who think it is their favourite out of the series!
