Who will be the mother??

Ok people, start talking about who the mother will be and what she will be like!  And how will Ted meet her??

Well we do know it's the roommate of one of the women that went to the same school that he taught at. I'm only about 2/3s of the way through season 6 now. Have you seen them all?

I apologize in advance for this rambling.

Okay, so I have begun to consider a theory that the mother is Barney's half-sister. (This will contain spoilers if you aren't caught up all the way. I don't claim to have created this theory.) There is some evidence to this theory.

First, we have the incident when Ted began teaching and mistakenly started teaching in an economics class. In the episode, it was made known that the mother, was in that classroom. When Barney had dinner at his father's house, his father introduced him to his half-siblings. His half sister was not at home, but his father said that she was studying at college. Coincidence? Maybe.

Has anyone ever wondered why when Ted tells the story to his kids, he refers to Marshall, Lily, Barney and Robin as Uncles and Aunts? Barney and Robin are getting married, and if Ted married Barney's half-sister, then that would make Robin and Barney the kids' aunt and uncle.

This is more of a stretch, but if Ted's divorced father, and Marshall's widowed mother ever got married, then that would make Marshall his step brother, giving us Uncle Marshall and Aunt Lily.

Lastly, we know that Ted meets his wife at Barney and Robin's wedding. Barney's half sister ought to be at the wedding.
