How Do You Help?

What I want to know is, how do you help the situation with Uganda? Hopefully EVERYONE adds something to this thread, so that there will be tons of ideas for all of us to share.

I've written follow up letters to my senators, and a Thank You to my representative. If I can get my act together I'm going up to DC tomorrow to harass them again. >_> Politely, of course.

My school's Awareness Club has a subcommittee (I guess you might call it?) called What Uganda Do!?! which does benefit concert occasionally, so I help promote those and go to them to donate.; ▶ Reply to This

I haven't done anything as awesome as that, but my school did have a presentation about invisible children, and ever since I've been really interested in human rights. Permalink Reply by kim rachel gray on July 28, 2009 at 11:21am: i started out the same way....except i found out about IC through a fall out boy music video...but i didnt know how to start either. my advice, take small steps to get there :) i started out with simple things like doing a rough cut screening at my house (which failed cause everyone was busy so im doing another one later on this year when everyone is NOT busy). i sent an email about what is going on in east africa, and how i would like to get my school to help, to a teacher at my school who runs NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) asking for her advice on how i could get our school to do something. i have not gotten a reply yet, but hopefully i will soon. so first, just make a game plan on how you are going to do it, then talk to someone who could definitely be able to help you out (teacher, principal, etc.), then put your game plan into action! good luck!! and feel free to send me a message if you need help or have any questions!
