sigh* i just bought a book from a second hand shop, and it smells really bad on the inside! (like butt, actually) and guess what the book is! Shakespeare! :( why must this wonderful binding reek so??!??!!?

@Naeryan: there are certain Publishers that Reek(mostly college texts, like Thomson), so I'm also in favour of the eBooks.

I bought this one book, and it sucked, but I kept it around JUST for the new book smell. It still has the smell after like 5 months.

Yeah, I was afraid I was the only one out there. It's a closeted fetish. I can no longer walk into a used book store, walk to the books, and just buy it cause it looks interesting. It needs to be interesting and smell like a book. Sigh

It's so nice to know I am not alone in the sniffing of books. I think old books smell the best, personally. New books are pretty good too, though.

I love the smell of books. I try to refrain from doing it in school or public areas, but sometimes my need to sniff the book overpowers me.

But seriously, they do smell good. Especially the brand spankin' new ones... my God
