What are you reading?

Tell everyone what you're reading currently, page status, and thoughts/comments on what you've read so far?!

 

I am currently reading 1984 by George Orwell.  

 

 

I'm approximately 50% done.  I am enjoying it so far.  It isn't my usual genre, though. The dates and names are hard to follow, but it doesn't seem to prevent me from understanding the story.  Winston and I would be good friends if ever we had the chance to meet.

I'll be reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman after I'm finished with Holmes.

Good Omens <3 Brilliant book. I got it signed by Neil Gaiman :D Now to find Terry Pratchett (who co-wrote it)...

Yeah, my best friend's been ranting about it for days now. She said if she doesn't get people to borrow the book from her, she's gonna start throwing it in their faces and making them read it. I got the top of the list (:

Yay! And at least you don't get a book thrown at you, this way :D But it's hilarious, and pretty damn awesome.

oh right well i dont think we got that tv version here in the uk, but if you get a chance you should check out the jeremy brett version on youtube, totally awesome.

which is your favourite holmes story? mine is either the norwood builder or the bruce partington plans

Peter Pan by James Barry. Incredibly whimsical and hilarious, yet oddly bloody for a children's book (like Grimm's Fairy Tales...). Love it so far, though :D

I want to read that along with Alice in Wonderland.  They seem so eerie (which I like).

Eerie, morbid, creepifying... generally good things when it comes to books. Especially when blended with whimsy (which probably explains why I listen to the Decemberists, too...). Alice in Wonderland is on my list to read in the near future :D
