Permalink Reply by Erin Bleich on July 31, 2012 at 2:25pm I used to play flute through high school. I play mellophone in marching/basketball band, and am learning french horn. I also want to learn electric bass guitar. My marching show this year is a Western and Windows of the World, though we play a lot of Latin tunes in the stands.

Permalink Reply by Katherine on August 3, 2012 at 1:01pm I play the piano, guitar, flute, drums, and cello. When I am on my own, I play classic rock, lots of broadway stuff, jazz, bluegrass, and some classical. When I am in a group, we mostly play classical, a little bit of jazz, some broadway, and we do a lot of our own composition.
I don't really know my style of muisc. I play lot of jazz and classical. But when I compose it's more of the rock and roll style. But I really like playing broadway stuff. To me thats the most fun.

Permalink Reply by Daniel on October 21, 2012 at 2:28pm I play diatonic harmonica, C, and no particular style. I'm basically still a novice in general.
Permalink Reply by David Paton on October 21, 2012 at 10:03pm Bassoon, flute, trumpet, trombone, bagpipe, smallpipe, accordion, harpsichord, and serpent.
I play baroque right through to modern art music, and a bit of swing, dixieland and a bit of folk in pubs. I've played in several orchestras, a big band, a brass band (on cornet and tenor horn), a pipe band, and a dixieland band. I also do a lot of pub session playing whenever I can.
I'm primarily a composer though, writing music in an early serial style, but I'm hoping to develop into a polystylistic composer like Schnittke.

Permalink Reply by Diana D. on December 15, 2012 at 11:59pm I play a lot of things, but mainly the horn. I've only been playing for 3 years, but I have to say that it is my instrument of choice for sure. Before that, in middle school, I played the clarinet, and I still pick it up from time to time, but it's becoming less often now. I play the guitar, too, mainly to accompany my singing. I took piano lessons when I was younger, and now I play piano when I need to hear what a phrase or chord sound like...that sort of thing. Besides that, I sing alto in an SSAA choir, and I volunteer with a children's choir. Also I really want to learn to play the cello someday.
I'm in my school's wind ensemble, where I play second horn, even though the first horn has a lot of trouble being first. We're only a two-person section. I'm in an orchestra in the community, where I'm the principal horn out of 4 other horn players. And the choir I'm in isn't a school choir, either. I've been in out-of-school choirs for 4 years now, and I'm loving them.
I usually play classical things, but in choir sometimes we get asked to sing certain things, so we have to do them. In band we have a mixed repertoire: at our last concert, we played Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral by Wagner, Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson, and Royal Canadian Sketches by Ralph Ford. And orchestra is strictly classical. My private teacher is helping me through Mozart's first horn concerto, too.
Permalink Reply by Franky on December 25, 2012 at 2:43pm hey! I play alto sax, flute and guitar and sing. I play mainly Jazz but also folk, rock, classical, soul and pretty much anything really :D
Permalink Reply by Ruby on January 2, 2013 at 2:40pm I play guitar (mainly acoustic, though electric whenever I can borrow one). I like playing acoustic covers of rock songs. Then I play violin- classical or folk stuff. I'm in my school orchestra, a county youth orchestra and a string group. And I sing- loudly, when I'm alone in the house, but as well in the school choir and a community choir.
