Hey all! I'm Monica, 23, and my entire life I have always wanted a pen-pal and never had one. Part of that was because I was terrified of potential creepers (and who can blame 'em), but here in Nerdfighteria, I'm not so worried about that. While I'd love someone to write to from anywhere, guy or girl, snail mail or e-mail, but I am really hoping to find someone to write to who is at least in their 20s like me. Absolutely no offense to the youngins and teens out there, you rock, but you also make me feel old! I like books (I go to library school - seriously), movies, music, food, traveling, and I'm a very prompt writer, I promise. =) Take care, please let at least one person respond haha and, of course, DFTBA!
I love the enthusiasm here, but not going to lie, the logisitcs that come with this are making my head spin (but in a fabulous way!) The middle-schooler in me likes the chain option because it's like the equivalent of having a notebook that a group of friends all write in, but that would mean more money to send and more time in between. Of course the e-version of that would just be "reply all"
Genius is born from limitation, right?
...Option One would be a lot easier, take less time, and be less expensive if we did it with postcards instead of full letters.
Cheesy Postcards with stereotypical people from our region... that would be hilariously awesome
That could be fun. Perhaps this has promise, though if we go the postcard route, I vote we message each other electronically too so we actually get to know each other whilst waiting for awesome postcardage to arrive.
Right, but you can write and send multiple postcards in a fraction of the time it takes to write and send as many letters! So for writing to everyone all at once, it would be a lot easier.
Exactly. So I'm voting for a hybrid approach if you catch my drift. We all in? =)
Oh, look at that! I didn't see your other message when I posted my last one on here.
So, you're saying, We do real-life postcards, with electron-based letter-length thingies in the meantime? I would personally really prefer writing real-life letters, as well, and foregoing electrons, but I'm old-school like that. :P It's all wrapped up with the appeal of the pen pal thing, in my mind. But I don't really care. It'll be fun either way! :)
I'm already thinking of fun ways to do postcard correspondence. 8^b
We could also do occasional letters. I know it takes longer and all but it's nice to get a big long letter occasionally! So we could do a letter every 3 months or something!
I like that idea. :)
Okay. Awesome. I think we're all on the same page-ish now, definitely in the same chapter. We ready to go?
Your idea for this awesome penpal quest seems awesome i would to join it if you don't mind.
I think you already have joined it. :)
