hi all, I figured out I'm a nerdfighter roughly 2 months ago, I joined kiva about 1 month ago.

now I know nerdfighters are inherently awesome, obviously. it says it right there on the tin.

but how awesome are they really? I'll tell you, in case you didn't know already: they are so totally, utterly and completely awesome that after smashing their target in the loan-a-thon on kiva they have started loaning in the name of other teams who haven't made theirs yet.

honestly, I often think to myself how crappy human beings can be to each other, but this community makes me believe our future isn't as bleak as all that. 

you are truly awesome!

Hi Kiva Nerdfighters.

October is going to be huge for us.  The captains have some special things planned.  If you don't normally browse the messages on the Kiva website much, you might want to start visiting there too sometimes....

I will try to post things here throughout the month, but the first port of call is normally there.

I foolishly offered to replicate one of the punishments myself if we hit 2 weeks worth of loans before vlogbrothers hit 2 weeks of videos ($1,035,435 by the 1,000th video) before I realized how much our loan rate had already skyrocketed thanks to John's video.  Doubtful that has much weight on the activity post-$1mil, but might be a nice side-dish if Nerdfighters are on the fence about continuing the awesome drive.
