Nerdfighters for Change

Nerdfighters for Change

There's so much suffering in the world, and there's not enough people doing things to change it. This group is for Nerdfighters who do want to help, in all the ways we can. Discuss problems and what we can do to fix them. Not that hard, right?

Hello everyone! I am a part of this organization called The HP alliance, they have done an incredible amount of social activism, including raising literally thousands of books for impoverished community centers, sending four planes full of emergency relief materials to Haiti, and making calls to all sorts of elected officials, as well as citizens, to promote marriage equality. They are an incredible group of nerds who are taking their love for their fandom's a step further, by applying the messages in Harry Potter to the real world.
They are right now part of a competition, and they need your vote to win! so if you are into it, it would be really awesome if you could vote for them right here! It literally takes 30 seconds, and we will be forever in your debt!

@Seth: I don't know how one would go about creating such a group at the university... if you want to be directly affiliated with Amnesty International, you may have to contact them, otherwise just have a general human rights club. As for what to do, you can have fundraisers, raise awareness about various things that are going on in the world related to your cause, and have discussions and documentary screenings and such...

Okay. I'm a member of Amnesty International and I was hoping to create an Amnesty group at my university, with human rights in mind. However, given the nature of Amnesty, I'm not exactly sure it would fit. I was curious if anyone had any ideas as to what I could do with a group like that. Other than write letters and donate, (and you don't really need a group to do that) I have no idea what to do.

How's this for a change:

Stop the New World Order from screwing us all over. They will turn us into slaves if we don't stop them. Please comment on my page if you agree that the agenda of the NWO needs to be stopped and there needs to be a change so that the people of the world can again live in peace as privately and as securely as they please.

An advocate of peace, I guess you could say, but that wasn't really what you were asking. I raise awareness for the conditions that the people of darfur are living in. If you are at all interested in more information, I would love to share it with you all.
