I'm all for change, but any change has to be subtle enough for people not to notice. The problem with modern society is that it is built on the hunger for more than what we have. If the species as awhole realises that a major change is happening then they will rise up to combat against it. Our society is built upon complacency and when what we are comfortable is changing we will try to stop. So little, unnoticed things must change until these little changes culminate into one major change that hopefully will accepted by the majority of the population.

Thank you Bokononymous ^.^ I agree wholeheartedly with you

Although I wish very much that the change we need could take place overnight, that's just not gonna happen. It will take steps and perseverance before we can expect things to get better.

As for the President, I believe Douglas Adams envisioned the position best in the form of Zaphrod Beeblebrox, a person to detract attention away from the people with power who has no real power themselves. I hope this changes and I believe it is heading in the right direction.

Whoa, just running through the posts here how did this conversation change from Pakistan/Afghnistan and the Taliban to Hamas and Pakistan, its not even the same situatuion, AT ALL. I would not consider Hamas to be a terrorist group at all.

@Easily Crazy Hat:
I agree we need to find better ways of dealing with issues like this aside from fighting and killing more people. I wish there was a solution. Unfortunately, right now, there is no easy solution. I don't know if there will ever be one either. Killing to solve problems goes all the way back to Cain and Abel. I wish it weren't this way, but it is. The only thing we can hope to do is find our own ways to make this world a better place by helping out where we can. One person may not single handedly be able to solve the issues in the world, but if one person's work inspires another person to help out and so on and so forth, who knows we might just be able to attain world peace one day!

Questions, why does it matter which side is hurting the most? Both sides are hurting and that's all that matters. Death on such wide of a scale, in my opinion, is never justified, and is a big reason of why I started this group to begin with. We need to find better ways of dealing with issues like this, aside from fighting and just killing more people.

@Arielle, fine by me. I respect your views too. But as you can see, this is something that gets me very... worked up.
I'm not going to argue anymore. Each to their own.

@Snozdy. Look, I don't deny the fact that the Palestinians have hard lives too. I am truly sorry about the boy you met. His story brings tears to my eyes. I am not anti-Palestinian! In fact I've met and interacted with a lot of Palestinians and I don't have a problem with them. I do not support the fact that there are Palestinians are living in refugee camps similar to the camps 12 million Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, etc. were killed in during WWII. I have nothing against the Palestinian people as a whole. They are in just as bad as a situation as the Jewish people are since they are not accepted into many of the surrounding Arab countries either. The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is much different than the Arab-Israeli conflict. And both have gotten greatly out of hand and all sides are at fault. I have studied the Arab-Israeli Conflict. I have seen all the sides. I've talked to people from both sides who have been affected. When it comes to the conflict in the Middle East, I am anti the terrorist organizations. They are the only ones I really have a problem with.

You asked if the Israeli army cares about the thousands of innocent Palestinian men, women and children they have killed. I'll answer you this. Israel warns before they attack to try and minimize civilian deaths. In my opinion that shows they care. Hamas is smart. They make it nearly impossible for Israel to come out of a situation looking like they've actually done good. Hamas knows how to play the media and knows how to make the situation turn in their favor. Hamas doesn't care about the death toll of the Palestinians they only care about terrorizing and killing Jews! Hamas will hid behind Palestinian women and children so that the only way for Israel to take out the leaders of Hamas they must sacrifice the lives of the civilians Hamas puts in the way. Now I'm not saying this is right, but it is what is being done.

Now we are both passionate about the sides we have chosen in this situation and neither one of us is going to change our views. We could probably go on debating this topic forever, but it sort of goes against the whole point of this group. Even though I may not fully agree with everything you have said, I respect your beliefs. Feel free to message me if you still have more to say to me, but I do not want to fight and just exchange facts and death tolls.

@Arielle. Really? Are their lives hard? For the last sixty years the children of Palestine have been living in fear for their entire lives and being forced to live in refugee camps within their own country. Innocents? Do the Israeli army care about the thousands of innocent Palestinian men, women and children slaughtered by their guns and tanks? Do they care for those murdered in the massacre of Sabra and Shatila? Did they care when they surrounded the area with tanks and forced those trying to escape back inside to be killed and tortured?
I met a boy not long ago, a Palestinian boy of my age, 16 years old only. Living with a life support system due to the destruction of his major internal organs from a Dum Dum bullet shot from an Israeli soldier's gun. That happened when he was 10 years old. He died last October.
The Palestinians are not asking the Israelis to leave. They are asking to be allowed to live as citizens once again of their own country.
If you support something like that. If you support the murder of thousands. The stealing of a country from those who belonged there then you are as bad as the soldiers of your 'oh so great nation'. In the recent conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis. The death toll of Palestinians was over 1000. The children? Over 400. Women? Over 100. Israeli deaths? 13. Including soldiers.
When Israel first became a state, the Palestinains were considered less than human. Yitzhak Shamir said 'we will stamp out those dirty arabs like cockroaches'. Sound familiar at all? Treating a race like they are not human? Threatening 'to stamp them out'. I dare not say it as I will probably we accused of being 'anti-semetic'.
When I hear views like yours, I think about those dead children. Those still alive who are now orphans in a country that should be theirs but where, they risk being beaten and killed. And I cry about the fact that there are people like you out there. It breaks my heart.

@Snozdy by terrorists I was referring to acknowledged terrorist organizations like Hamas or Al Queda or Fatah. These are organizations designated as terrorist organizations. Everyday Hamas sends missiles across the boarder from Gaza into southern Israel. These missiles usually hit the city of Sderot. For the past 8 years residents of Sderot have not been able to live their lives normally. Children can not play outside because once the alert goes off they have 15 seconds to run for a shelter. Kids born in the past ten years know no life but living in a bomb shelter. When Hamas sends these missiles into Israel, they are doing it purely to cause terror and they are succeeding! If they really were fighting for freedom they wouldn't be attacking innocent people! Plus they were given freedom. About four years ago Israel completely pulled out of the Gaza so that the land could be Palestinian, but that wasn't enough for them. The Palestinians won't be happy until they are in control of ALL the land in the area.

I didn't say children are born terrorists. I said they are born into terrorism and brought up being taught how to kill.

Also, Borat is not the right person to quote to make your point! Sacha Baron Cohen created movie and concept of the character Borat as a satire!
