On Friday I was in the park with my friend making a dinosaur-shaped pinata. A three-year-old dinosaur enthusiast came over to talk to us. His favourite is dimetrodon (yeah, not actually a dinosaur, but we'll let that slide) and apparently the best quality a dinosaur can have is "lots of really big teeths."

The more you know.

That's a really awesome story about Timimus, I didn't know that! I knew it about Leallyna, but the plot thickened I see. I can't imagine how that conversation went down "Oh no honey, we forgot Timmy!" ---- "Well that's okay Darling, we'll just go on a massive expedition to discover a new dinosaur" Talk about a bizarre motive to further human knowledge. ^^
Oh, I had no idea about the Dracorex controversy either, thanks for putting me onto that, I love juicy dino gossip :P

Haven't seen other members of the dracorex family, but Dracorex Hogwartsia is a gorgeous gorgeous hunk of bones, not to mention a controversial one which is always good. I love that Leaellynasaura is named after the daughter of the palaeontologist that discovered it (named Leallyna) , even funnier he's other son then got jealous his sister had a dinosaur and he hadn't so the next one he found he named Timimus (which translates to Tim's mimic, meaning this dinosaur looks like Tim) just to shut his kid up.
Which means that if I ever have kids my main concern in naming them will be how good their names look in dinosaur form, in case I ever want to name a new species I discover after them.
