Nerdfighters

Last night was opening night for my high school's production of the musical, "Barnum," but I'd never heard anything about it before auditioning. Turns out it was a musical from the 80's, about the life of P.T. Barnum, that lasted about a year and a half before being discarded and forgotten. It was a very refreshing expirience for me, because most of the audience had never seen or even heard of the show before.
Has anyone else had the chance to work with an unknown like "Barnum?" If so, what was your perspective on it?

on one hand, it's fun to do something like that and not have people already expecting something from it. On the other hand, sometimes there's a reason that it's unknown...
