AJ I don't know what play this is but I really want to see it :P

Ignore everyone teasing you, if you're the comic relief in the show you're going to be the one who the audience like, the one they really remember! Plays are so different in production to when they're performed, so even if it isn't fun now, it'll be awesome soon!! :D

ya that was a great book.

i bet it would be a good play.

I know how you feel AJ. That's how our plays go...

But I'm glad I could help.

I bet it'll turn out awesome (or at least your part will).

And, no, Alaska's not my real name (xD), but I've been trying to change my name (Kimberly) since I read Looking for Alaska...

thx for your help alaska [ i dont know if thats your real name but its what you call your self]

i have to practise this part for 6 months before that real show and my fellow actors who are only there to talk to gether on stage and goof off [im one of three that actuly cares how the play turns out] are teasing me about my part

now i kind of like being the comic releaf but when people are mean to you when your just trying to do your best to make other people laf its just not fun any more.

well that felt good to get off my chest

Hey, AJ. I'd tell you all the cliche things that never work for me like picturing everyone in their underwear or just staring at the director...but I hate those.

So, here's what works for me. Start off your performance staring at the back of the auditorium (if there's maybe an exit sign or something in the back, stare at that). Just perform to the wall. Yes, there are people there, but you're not there for them. You're just trying to give the best performance possible to that poor wall that never gets any love. Pour out all of your emotion and lose yourself in the role. Then you'll forget about those thoughts that make us remember the people, and you'll be able to maybe even go as far as giving eye contact to people.

Ultimately, they are there to see you succeed. They didn't come for a crappy performance, so they want you to do your best (I know this is kind of cliche, but it helps me). You don't need to worry about what they're thinking because you know. They're thinking, "Oh, I hope this guy does a good job so I get my money's worth."

Give them there money's worth by forgetting about them.

Sorry if that didn't help. I've only so much experience.

DFTBA, and break a leg during your performance.

I am in love with this group. Finally, nerds to share my love of theatre. Any who want it, but just really can't get enough of it where they are? No community theatre...just school plays full of hooligans who really only did it to get out of football practice? Yeah, well, I'm with you.

Cheers to Nerdfighterian Drama (who suggests we write out own play and perform it on the chat? Too rash?)

Jenna: you can join a community theater. My experience with that is fantastic. Everyone is really nice and anything you don't know they are willing to teach you.
