Nerdfighters

We all know how great the Lennon/McCarthney partner ships was producing the vast majority of the Beatles songs but I wanted to get peoples opinions on something that I ended up talking about for over an hour; Did George Harriosn write the greatest Bealte songs?

Of course with John and Paul doing the most work their songs are bond to be mor popular but if we consider songs like Here Comes the Sun and While my Guitar Gently Weeps are they superior to the classics such as Come Together and Let it be?

I don't know. On the one hand, a disproportionate amount of my favourite songs were written by Harrison. He wrote so few songs compared to Lennon and McCartney, but yet so many of them are my favourites. On the other hand, I'm not sure that his songs are necessarily better than the best of Lennon+McCartney.

George has said before that he would only be allowed so many songs an album. By the end of The Beatles, he said he had accumulated so many songs that they would have had to put out 100 Beatles albums just to get out the songs he wrote by 1965. His songs that never made it into a Beatles album were carried over into his solo career. And his solo work is genius.
