LOVED the show but I hate to say I was a little disappointed. On the website and on the facebook event page it said the show was free. I even called the venue and asked and they told me it was free. Then 3 of us get to the door and there is this $5 cover charge. Since no one else had money I paid for the three of us. The girl who took the money (Kristina's friend) said that it was posted on the website but she was mistaken about that. It says free very clearly. I don't mind supporting the bands. I adore them, just don't think that was fair to do to the fans. I posted this a few places and also left comments on Kristina and Luke's pages but no reply. That was another disappointment. I think this issue deserves some acknowledgment. I just would like to know if the money did go to the bands (which is totally fine) or to the venue (which I also understand) or towards something else like Ester's Fund (which would be totally awesome). Any feelings on this?

I'm with you, Lisa. I was ok paying it, but it wasn't fair, and they should at least let us know what the money we paid went towards...

Sorry about this... we negotiated no cover with the booking agent there but they told us they had expenses when we pulled up. We didn't know either and there's nothing we could do about it. The money went to the venue, not us. We try to play free shows whenever we can, but sometimes we just can't make it work.

Yeah, I was a little surprised. But I know venues and I kind of thought there might be something- cafes/bars don't usually do free shows. The blame's on the venue for this one. They should have let you guys know so that you could warn the fans. I'm sure everyone was/would have been willing to pay, it was just a shock! :)

Thank you so much for replying to this! That stinks that the venue did that but, like I said I totally understand. I am glad we got to see all of you guys play and hope you guys find a better venue next time you come through Pittsburgh :)
