While we're rather certain of certain things like one and one adding up to equal two, there are certain theories and formulas that have changed over time.  Looking at number theory in particular (one largely seperate from the scientific community), we can observe radical changes over time in what was thought to be true.

Well the way i see it, for math not to be certain, you'd have to add extra factors.

1+1=2 right? unless you apply some weird rule i wouldn't know, cos I'm not that in to math, but then that rule would really still be a mathematical factor, with a certain outcome.

My point being, i guess, that while you are right about the scientific facts changing. Mathmatical facts do not change, more facts are added to affect the fact.

Like laws, and ammendments to laws.

And please sir, if you are able, do correct me and prove me wrong. :D

How can math be completely certain?  Our ideas of what's "right" especially in fields like math and science are consistently changing.
