I find making a list a scary things helps when finding something to base a story on.

Well, songs do inspire me, but only the mood of the song. Depending on how slow or fast song is, I might decide to make my story exciting or sad. As for structure, I hope to write a series of scary stories for kids and young adults.

I write on the computer, because I have to have something to distract me while I think. I actually probably spend more time playing Tetris than I do writing while I'm "writing". And I have to have music playing, otherwise I have nothing to inspire me. :D

Kelli, my advice is to find something to structure the story around. For me, I use music albums. Songs tell such cool stories, and once you find characters to fit, it's much easier to get past that first bit.

Not a problem Kelli. I tend to use my laptop for music too. I don't like the quiet either.

I usually do write things down on paper, but I usually have my computer on for the music. I hate being in complete silence. It's eerie. But now that I think about it, I could probably use that to my advantage for my creepy stories series. Thanks DeNiece.

Kelli I tend to get distracted when I use my laptop to write. Myy suggestion is to write by hand. There will be a lot less distractions. It'll be just you and the pen andd paper.

I love reading, and I have so many ideas for possible books in my head. My problem is that I'm easily distracted and I barely get past the first chapter. I need to find a way to overcome that, because my biggest dream is to become an author.
