Nerdfighters

Hi I would like to try and start a collab channel on youtube. I think it would be cool to have a vlog channel that people from all over the world talk about school, work, life, and being a nerd. I would love to get at lest five other people to join the collab and it would be good if they were from different countries. Pleas respond if you are interested, thanks.

Hey, I would love to be part of a collab channel! I would bring to the table discussions about art, books and Feminism mainly, (as well as just life). I am South African, by the way. :)

That would be so cool thanks! Do you have any ideas about what we should do with the vlog and do you know a way we can try to get more people? I am open to ideas. :)

Um... well I suppose anything that is different from the norm on youtube - something that is polished, I guess? I was quite excited about doing some sort of animation or greenscreen effects (I'm still reading up on this, because I have no idea how to do cool stuff) . I've been testing out video and voice clips and I can only say that my face looks frog-like and I sound like I'm eating marbles. It seems like the volggers best friend is good lighting. What kind of stuff were you thinking of? And I may have a possible gamer friend that might like to be in on it, but I'm not certain. :)

I was thinking we could have a weekly topic or something that we could talk about. If you want to do something different with how you talk about the topi that would be cool. If the thing that sort of connects what we upload to the channel is the topic then I don't think it would matter if we vlog the same way. If any of that makes sense.

That's so cool that you may have a friend that might be in on it! Where are they from?

Oh and I was also thinking we could pick the days that we would upload vlogs. I like Wednesdays.:) So what is your favorite day and that could be when you upload or something. Then hopefully we can find more people for the other days of the week. I was thinking we could do this like the vlog channels 5 awesome girls, 5 awesome guys, and John and Hanks vlog channel.

Any more ideas?

I like weekly topic idea a lot!

My friend is from down the road, so, here, also. :)

At the moment I'm very pressed for time, so making really cool videos right now is a little unrealistic (but very soon I shall be free!).  If I could have a day it would be Thursday, but fro contingencies sake, could we discuss the topics in advance so that I could prepare in advance. It would  suck if we lost energy and petered out because real life started interfering.

How about we do a test run? (Not to he public eye, yet) Could you suggest a topic now and we both make videos on it, and we them back and forth between each other, tweaking and improving them until we have a style we are happy with?

Ok cool and yes I would defiantly think we should talk about the topics in advance. I like the idea of a test run. The test run could be focussed on what it is like to live in the part of the world that we live in or something like that. Oh and sorry it took me so long to reply. :)

Heya,
I'd be interested in collaborating.

I havent done many videos, but I wanna get out there. I'm from germany, almost 27 (though I got stuck at around 22/23 ^^; )

I

Thats so cool that you are from Germany!! Now there are 3 of us! Its ok that you have not done many videos because neither have I. Do you have any suggestions for the channel?

Well, I like the idea of having weekly topics. Of course we should discuss them in advance and maybe have a list (maybe a google doc/drive file, they have proven to be very effectively for collabs at Uni)

In planning a few topics in advance, we could make sure to have major topic to discuss which are on a set date, for example world book day etc.

possible (maybe even obvious) topics could be

-introduction (who am I, were do I live, what are my hobbies, etc pp...)

- why am I a nerdfighter and how did I become one

- day/week in the life

- favourite book

-favourite fandom

- favourite book

- movies

or maybe less "flexible" themes like

-HP week

-LOTR week

for set themes, it could be very interesting if neither or not all of us are familiar with the topic, to get differen points of views. for example: I don't want anything to do with twighlight, so a possible video for me would be to explain why I feel that way...

another idea I had was to keep the group a bit smaller,  so that the channel is not bombarded with new videos (that gives ppl the time and flexibility to actually enjoy the videos uploaded, without being pressured to "keep up" ?

so maybe 3 or 4 videos a weeks spread over the week (like monday, wednesday, friday, sunday) ?

speaking of days: I would like  mondays , since I travel a lot for work and would mainly have time to work on videos on the weekends.

I made a google document in order to visualize my idea mentioned above. of course that is just exemplary and needs more ideas, tweaking, etc

I hope I haven't scared anyone away with that brain dump ^^

if so, I am really sorry ^^

I am so sorry but for the past week I have not been able to get on the internet or reply to your comments. I also added my Email so if Theresa would put her Email on your document then we could start Emailing. I think that would be a better way to talk. You have some very good ideas for the group vlog.:) I think we are hoping to start uploading videos at the beginning of next month and do a practice vlog that we just send to each other some time this month. Yes I know this month is coming to an end but I think it could work. Maybe, yes?

if we come up with a name for the channel, we could just create the channel and upload the videos as "private" so only we could see the videos.

the beginning of next month sounds good as a starting point.

what kind of test vlog where you thinking about?

I am really excited about this project :)
