Why are we the best?

I think we art the best because we are smart, talented, good at quittich, pretty, and alot more!

Similar to how the four elements depend on each other and are necessary to create and support life here on Earth, the balance between the four houses are essential for maintaining a decent education system for little wizards! :D

I believe Jo herself even drew parallels between those two subjects.

Gryffindor - fire

Slytherin - water

Hufflepuff - earth

Ravenclaw - air

Lqtm, slippery. :D I don't know much about Greek philosophy, but I am a pretty Sirius astrology nerd. You know - stars n' stuff.

In the Zodiac, fire (Gryffindor) signs (Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo) are emotional, volatile types who are adventurous, powerful, and often inspirational. In one word, fire is action.

Earth (Hufflepuff) signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) are in constant touch with the material world. Always practical, they are stimulated by the tangible, elegant, and luxurious. In one word, earth is sensation.

Air (Ravenclaw) signs (Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra) are mental creatures desirous of contact, communication, and relationship. They are the original thinkers, and the "bearers of human news." In one word, air is thought.

Water (Slytherin) signs (Pisces, Scorpio, and Cancer) are silent and mysterious types who perceive what others cannot. These people "have the potential for the depths of darkness or the heights of mysticism and art." In one word, water is emotion.

I think the reason that I'm a Ravenclaw, and why I think it's a better house than say Slytherin or Gryffindor, is because we do crave knowledge. We want to learn about the world, and people. As John always says, imagine people complexly, and I think that Ravenclaws are more prone to doing that, next to Hufflepuffs, because we're not interested in trivial things.
