Nerdfighters

Today in the grocery store, I sized up the lines, as usual, and picked one, wondering if the other line would go through faster (also as usual). A woman took the place in the next line as I was wondering if it would have been a better choice, and I looked at her and said, "race ya!"

I love it when people take you up on your invitations to play! She laughed and I said, "let's see who gets through the line first!" And so it began - we started involving people around us - I got to the checker first, and said "I won!" but she got out of the store first, and her checker did a victory dance!

It made waiting in line a lot more fun, that's for sure :)

When I got home, our house had been papered! Well, sort of, indirectly. The next street over had three houses that had been TP'd over the weekend, and then the wind picked up... I guess when one house gets papered, the whole neighborhood gets to share when the wind blows! :)

Yay, free toilet paper falling from the sky!

So, how about you guys? How have you played today? Share the fun!

Yesterday, I went into the city, took a seminar and tour at the Art Institute's new modern wing, got my mind blown, and took some pics - it was a great day...

I love the bean sculpture, it's my favorite thing about downtown.

What a clear, crisp, gorgeous fall day for you trip downtown! LOVE the bean. Here's to getting your mind blown. I guess the seminar was good, huh?

Oh, I think I saw a picture of the bean on another Nerdfighter blog somewhere -- this is the chicago skyline right? It looks like the people underneath are taking pictures -- their own reflections I'm guessing. Beautiful photos. The city looks so clean and crisp!

Yes, fom, the shiny surface reflects the skyline, sky and camera toting tourists. It's like one of those old touristy mirrors in busch gardens, you can take a picture of yourself taking a picture of yourself with the city reflected. Lots of wedding photos snapped here... i did it too.

It is crisp and clean once you get to the lake front and into the sun. When you get off the train, you are in the bowels of the city and it is a 20 minute brisk morning walk to the sun...I love the feeling of emerging into the sunlight and the lake from the hustle and bustle of the city off to work.
