Nerdfighters

OK, so I was in Washington for a few days and it's ALIVE there..spring at its finest. I walked down to the market area for coffee/study time and enjoyed the flowers so much that after I got back, I went out again with my camera.

These are not good pictures, but they're of pretty flowers so I thought I'd post them for those still playing in the snow.

Spring in Capitol Hill is so much nicer than spring in Bawlmer. (The flowers outnumber the garbage! I so could not work for the Bawlmer Tourism people! ;) )

Color coordinating their landscaping?

To properly shoot this, I would have had to lie down on the ground in a white shirt with the owners staring at me. Oh well.

It's beginning to look a lot like ... spring?!

Even the ivy (or whatever it's called) is coming back to life!

Anyway, this is less barely scratching the surface of two sides of one city block! I know there are some pretty spring photos elsewhere but it anyone wants to post spring photos here, I'd love it!

Ser, I always wanted to go to there when I lived in the other Washington (state) but I always ended up going other places first. I'm still kicking myself over that one!

Lovely!! You captured the bluest blue and redbud too.
I did the same thing Easter Sunday. We had such a nice, lovely, unexpected sunny warm day.
I actually got a sunburn sitting out listening to birds and chatting with friends.
My little nature trail is popping with purples, and I tried again to catch it digitally, but it's not as deep or vibrant:

Hubby and daughter planted these daffodils from a neighbor in a happy face

More woodland flowers done no justice by digital photofoolery

Awesome, Mel! Those are so pretty! I've been desperate for spring so I'm loving the photos. I want to know what kind of tree in the 7th and 8th picture is! I've never seen the buds growing on the bark before!

Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms were gone already and when I went two weeks ago they weren't in full bloom. Every years can't be as perfect as last years!

Thats the redbud, my favorite tree. The leaves come next, little hearts!

Oh, and very, very jealous that you live in my old garden zone, its 5 here and only forsythia is out on shrub or tree yet. Soon, very soon, there will be blossoms on the cherrys and crabs and magnolias!!! What a lovely neighborhood stroll. :)

yea, my zone 5 is in a bit of a pause. The crocuses are done, as are the daffodils. But the tulips are just buds. Not photogenic yet. But the (northern hemisphere) world is slowly waking up!

Jealous! Our daffodils are just starting out, I'm zone 5 too.... Your zone 5 is better than my zone 5 - I saw the postcards too, you have scenery.... waaah.

E, care to give me some perspective? :)
