VT, it is so hard to let go. I'd stow away in a suitcase or volunteer to go with, or lose my mind, but I'm a wussie. I'm sure she will have a great trip and you'll survive - you've done your job correctly it seems!

oy, my kid is growing up. Hardly a kid anymore. Next spring, she will be going on a school field trip across the country to washington D.C. Without a blood relative guarding over her. And she will probably have the time of her life. Without her parents! What is she thinking? Or conversely, what I am thinking to allow this? OK I know what I am thinking: she has totally failed to behave in an irrational, dangerous, or other manner that requires constant total supervision. And she reacts to surprising situations with sensible actions. It's just not fair.

Doctor Mario is one of my fav's for making the world go away.

Agreed. I have these two old RTS games (Battle for Middle Earth and BfMEII) that I find very soothing in times of trouble. Nothing like crushing an army of orcs to get my angst out!

Hope you feel better soon, and hope you can get off the worst of the steroids. (prednisone and the like is ugly, ugly stuff! My boys have had to be on it from time to time. Yikes.)

sounds like the perfectly natural and healthy working out agression through imaginary acts of senseless violence.

Mel- Breathing is one of the biggest issues, but as I said, it's a little better since I have a lovely assortment of inhalers, a nebulizer, and drugs. I'm terrified of getting the flu this year, so hoping to get the immunizations soon.

It would be nice to get off the steroids; they make me hungry and kind of agro and angst filled... I've taken up FPS (first person shooter) video games to get the angst out since I can't do fight club or run anymore. I've never been a gamer, but there is something truly cathartic about blasting an alien's head off or taking out an entire platoon of enemy soldiers with a rocket launcher. Really, I'm not a violent person!!!

Hope you can at least breathe easy. Jeeze, friends do not get the 2009 H1N1!

I'm not actually on the mend, but I do finally have medications that at least make me feel a little better so that I can function a little better. I have multiple diagnoses now, but all seem to be secondary conditions stemming from some unknown issue.

Don't really have anyone here to rely on at the moment, although my sister is trying to help more. It's hard for her, though, with two young children. It's ok... makes you stronger, as they say.

One high point, though, that makes me smile, which I'll put in the "ahhh..." category.

Ugh, Jen. Are you on the mend? Do you have someone watching out for you? Take care and rest, get better... thinking of you.
