Hello everyone I just found this group :) I haven't been diving for some time due to time and money shortages ;) but I am currently in Thailand for an internship so I hope to get the opportunity to go diving some time. Any tips on places to go to? :)

Sarah, why not consider a scuba diving summer camp? We have one here in the BVI called Sail Caribbean, which is sailing and diving combined. Check it out at www.sailcaribbean.com

I'm 15 and got certified 2 summers ago! I love it, but wish I could find more teen divers...

Hey,

Its good to see there are other scuba diving nf's. I learned to dive as young as I could, (what is it 11, 12?) and got certified immediately. It is sooo addicting. I'm sure some of you know about this, but in the interests of decreasing worldsuck, PADI's Project AWARE does a lot of cool things as far as protecting marine life, promoting environmentally friendly diving practices, etc. I was going to make a video about it for the Project for Awesome but I didn't get a chance.

SCUBA divers! The brand new, most comprehensive Guide to Diving and Snorkeling in the British Virgin Islands went on sale today! I am so excited, it has taken 2 years to get from the beginning stages of the idea to getting it on the shelf. It has been a tremndous amount of work, but it is a magnificent thing! I contributed all the artwork to the book and my friend and colleague, Jeff Williams wrote the text. If any of you guys are ever in the BVI I highly recommend that you get yourselves a copy!

Bonaire is off the coast of Venezuela. I haven't been able to dive there yet, but my dad's been there twice, and the stories and pictures are AMAZING. It's definitely near the top of my list for dive sites.

We'll go diving places where there really isn't anything much to see, just because we can dive. :)

Umm, it's called Bonaire. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the Netherlands Antilles. My aunt and uncle went there over April vacation and they loved it. They actually convinced my grandfather to go for Christmas (which is NOT easy). So, it's actually in motion, and I'm going to go to the classes this summer, and then my aunt and uncle are going to certify me after they get certified to certify people.

Thanks for the warning, Sarah - I can see the addictive effects in said aunt and uncle. They're crazy. Any chance at all to go diving, and they're right there. It's kind of ridiculous. :D

Alex: You'll love it. I will warn you, though... it's addicting. Once you're certified, you'll want to dive all the time. :)
