Hey, I am shy. I don't really go out of my way to talk to people and when I do I usually get nervous unless one of my friends introduces me. Most of my friends I met because of my best friend and I can't really say I have made them any other way. The reason(s)? The two main reasons are that I was bullied from about Year 4 - Year 9 (UK) and find it hard to trust people. Another is that I am gay, which is always a fun thing to discover when you are going through the most vunerable times of your life, and I purposely hid away from people because of it. That's me!

I'm sort of new here as well and I'm super nervous about when school starts again because I'll be going to high school and I'm really bad at making new friends.

I can relate Toni. Im also new and I'm only shy because people really scare me and I dont know what to talk about at times.

Hey shy nerdfighteria.  So out of school I'm not shy (as in, within my youth group or with family or my choir) but inside school I'm incredibly shy.  I only speak to about 5 people and avoid everyone else (mainly because I was bullied from kindergarten to 9th grade).  Does anyone have any ideas of how I can shed my past and try to make friends for my senior year?

The earlier the better for me, haha. I have a final on Thursday.
