maybe. it just seems they are such a part of popular culture that major points would be known. keep in mind that i know a couple of adults who haven't seen the series, (blasphemous as that seems) but never-the-less, know even some of the minor characters, and the whole (canonical) history of the Skywalker family.

Hmm. Very good question. It really depends on the age of the kid. I bet there are a lot of kids who are "cartoon network" age who have only known star wars because it's now on TV. I'm talking like (WOW, that's the Texan in me...) 8-10 year-olds who have ignored the age indication. That show has an enormous fanbase, and I wouldn't be surprised if their parents haven't let them watch the movies yet because of the violence. Then again, Clone Wars deals HEAVILY with really mature themes like death and compassion and the unity (and separation making) of idealistic thoughts. So, maybe I should shut my mouth. :P
