Nerdfighters

Greetings fellow steampunkers!

A friends of mine and I are starting a new project called Airship Audio. We're planning on creating a series of audio dramas in a steampunk universe.

If anyone is interested in contributing we have a website here: http://airshipaudio.blogspot.com/

Updates will be posted there along with the final guidelines for submissions, which will be posted in the near future.

Thanks!

Nia

At the beginning of the summer I started working of a steam punk novel.every day aftter that was filled with ether reading or writing steam punk. I would be happy to help any steam punk loving nerdfighters out in any way I can. But I have to be able to do it from home and I don't have a web cam:( but other then that I'm game.:)

You can totally help from home. You don't need a webcam because everything is in audio form!!!

We just posted more information about submissions so check out our blog!

i have a question about rule 5.5.1 , it says on airships can travle in the air, well what about spring powerd gliders like in airborne [airboren is a great book by kenith ople about a cabin boy on a air ship]
I have read Airborn! It's been a while though, can you refresh my memory on how they work and we'll let you know? Thanks!

in the book the popular mode of geting from a to b is air ship but there are allso two kinds of gliders, the first is gas fueled [i know that that is called desle punk] but the other kind is pedle powered and spring powered. for the spring powered ones you wind a crank to tighten a spring witch stores the energy to flap the wings.

also i think that your time line is a bit restricted. in  leviathan [another good book] it taked place in word war one, as was better for it. that leads to another question i have... how much can we mess with history?

I've talked it over with my partner and we've agreed that the spring gliders are suitable for this steampunk world. In regards to the time period we would like to stick to the Victorian period. I do realize that Scott Westerfeld set his series during WWI, we however, do not wish to do this. In regards to history, we'd like to keep major events such as the American revolution, Industrial revolution and so on, even though they weren't part of the Victorian era are the kinds of events that should be included and not changed. The best analogy I can come up with is how in Doctor Who there are fixed points in time that cannot change at all. Keep that in mind as you're writing. If you're still really not sure you can email us at AirshipAudio@gmail.com and we'd be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
