We love Nerdfighteria and hope that we can band together to win the Udacity competition. Our team is called The Nerdfighters, filled with nerdfighters interested in learning and education. Our team leaders are Eda Tse and Laureen Chen, both from Stuyvesant High School in New York City.
The Udacity competition is a high school competition in which anyone (13 and over) can participate and learn through free college level courses. The classes are free and online. They are run by professors at Stanford.
We’re #5 out of over 300 teams, so we’re close to the top! We know that the Nerdfighters are capable of great things and we hope you join us in making this competition another Nerdfighter achievement. (Even if we don’t win, we will at least learn cool things. I am currently taking computer science!)

Permalink Reply by Farzana Haque on July 6, 2012 at 3:07pm The classes are mostly computer based (including Intro to Computer Science). There's also Statistics, Intro to Physics, and Discrete Mathematics (all you need to know to take this course is polynomials). After completing a course you can put it on your college or job application.

Permalink Reply by Farzana Haque on July 6, 2012 at 8:34pm I recommend signing up with your full real name. At the end of the course you get a certificate which you can put in your college or job apps. If you already did, no big deal. It's just less of a hassle.
Permalink Reply by Calbert Sheridan on July 14, 2012 at 4:50am I signed up! It's interesting so far, I hope we win!
