I am really excited with the movie due out this month. My local Blockbuster had a huge price error. I got the blue ray 3 disck dvd directors cut for only twenty dollars.

hurm...Rorschach is my hero. I hated it when they took his mask off, but I LOVE the comicbook!!!

Watchmen was a series when it was first released. A 12 parter.
Yes, Fables and Sandman are fucking awesome.
I think I'm also more partial to them as well.

Best single volume graphic novel I've ever read. Alan Moore is a genius. I think Fables and Sandman are a little better, but they are series.

yeah, i agree, its the best graphic novel ive ever read too. i like that it isnt in a series. its good there wont be movie sequels cause they usually ruin the awesomeness of the idea. except batman and lord of the rings. those had excellent sequels. mmm i love Nite Owl (Daniel Dreiberg) and Rorschach :) great characters.

Yeah, they should have used Stripped by Depeche Mode...

i thought the movie was a really faithful adaptation too, i wish theyd chosen a better song for the sex than leonard cohen's hallelujah. its a beautiful song but it wasnt right for that scene. I agree with The Honorary Loli that they shouldve included more about the new frontiersman and maybe a little more on the guys at the news stand. but otherwise i loved it :)

The movie was a pretty faithful adaptation, I thought. But I agree with Floris regarding some of the scenes... the prolonged scene in Archemides could definately been swapped out for some more meaningful story. Like... the death of Nite Owl I. It was important in the novel, and never made its way into the movie.

They who read? The Watchmen. Oh the words play just doesn't work in this case.
Er- the movie. It was just lacking. I mean I liked it, but you know, there was just something about it... that was just not right. I'm still of the opinion they should've broken it down to an extremely high budget mini-series.

I just saw the movie but I havn't read it yet. I've been meaning to buy it. I saw the trailer with Muse's 'Take a Bow', which i liked. In response to Floris I think some of the violence was designed to shake the viewers a bit but i think one of Rorschach's flashbacks was a bit much, I wont say more than that, I hate spoilers.
