Kate, not specifically about nerdy vegans, but I just received my copy of 'Bold Native', about animal liberationists - I haven't gotten round to watching it yet, but I can't wait! Here's the trailer:

Also, does anyone know any books or movies about nerdy cool vegans? I like to see examples of cool, non-judgmental people who are trying to do good. :)

Oh, and if there are any single nerdy vegan boys in Melbourne, Australia.... How You Doin? XD

It makes me so happy that this group exists! I was beginning to feel like the different vegan/geek parts of my personality were too different but of course it makes sense that nerdfighters, committed to reducing worldsuck, would have veg*n representatives!

Have you guys seen the parody music video "Geek and Gamer Girls"?

My friend and I want to do a parody called "Vegan Gamer Girls", to show vegns have multiple interests, and have lines like "vegan gamer girls, we're unbelievable, we all know that soy tastes best" and "nerdfighters, represent! we aim to fight worldsuck!" :D

She will read stuff but she tends to remember only the things that say Imma die.

Haha. Well as i've said, it runs in my family to not like meat, so she's used to it. And i've read alot of things that have gone as far as to say it's healthier to not eat meat.

Sora- Is she willing to read things? Because there are plenty of resources on the internet that explain how easy it is to lead a healthy meat-free life. They use science. Science is good for convincing the omnivores.

Wish my mom was like yours! I get constant lectures about how I'll die if I don't eat meat.

I would very much like to Nephtys80, but my mother (who is very open minded and understanding) has a hard enough time finding things for me to eat, much less soy bassed yogurts. Haha, i probably will once i have my own house and income, etc. And you should tell me more about this yeasty nut cheese of yours.

Hey Jacob, there are some really nice soy-based yoghurts out there, both sweet and savoury, should you want to veganize further. I don't like any of the store-bought vegan 'cheeses' i've tried, but I make my own very nommy alternatives, based mostly on nutritional yeast and nuts.

I never really liked the taste of any meat (which seams to run in my family) so it only took one pamplet from PETA a friend gave me to make me quite cold turkey (so to speak). I've almost gone full vegan with the exception of cheese and yogurt. Been going strong with no second thoughts for about 7 months now.
