The One Downside to Being a Vegetarian...

... is that I have to put up with the stupid question, "Well, then what do you eat?" I feel like this should be a given, no? I mean, a vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat meat, fish, or the byproducts of meat and fish. (Technically a vegetarian who eats fish is a pescetarian). That seems pretty straight forward to me. Am I missing something? Or am I just overstating the intelligence of my friends and family? :/

i know what you mean. my best freinds famliy are are all junk food crazy. i stayed at his house for two day and in that time we only ate at his house once. and that time it was a frozen pizza, and they called it home made. i find it hard to eat like that.

... are you serious? No... I couldn't live like that. I'm very sorry you had to do that. We have a camping trip coming up, and I don't know what I'm going to eat. They're the kind who spam hot dogs and ham sandwiches. I'm just like, "Do you know how many carbs that is?" :/ They don't eat healthy...

i have a idea  i did this when i whent camping for a week . put vegi burgers in tin foil and then back them in the coals .do the same thing with potatos and just bring letice. i also brought eggs and a small cast iron skillet. dont forget the wonder of tost. any way thats all the tips i have

I hate hate question!!!! I mean I've had people try to shove chicken down my throat. Its like they are losing humane qualities. They should have some respect for my decision. Terrible People

One kid asked me if I just ate, like, tomatoes and lettuce......It's funny how many things are vegan when you actually start to look for it though.

I've heard that question so many times in so many various ways. Yes, it should be simple...Apparently, it is not.

Some people are like, "So, you're a vegetarian? That's crazy! What do you eat?"

I explain it to them.

Then they say, "Oh, so you must eat a PB&J sandwich, like, every day, huh?"

I explain that I'm allergic to peanuts and peanut products.

Their reaction: "OH MY GOD! You're a vegetarian AND you can't eat peanuts!?!?!"

I nod yes.

"WHAT DO YOU EAT!?!?!"

The same exact thing I told you the first time, idiot (excuse my meanness. I'm not usually so hard on people)!

oh i couldnt live if i couldnt have peanut butter. its my comfort food. and this year i have been a vegi for 4 years. but its getting to the point were my mom is saying "eat the meat , eat the side dishes, or dont eat at all.

i really dont want to make her mad for not eating what she cooks, but meat just isnt for me.
