... is that I have to put up with the stupid question, "Well, then what do you eat?" I feel like this should be a given, no? I mean, a vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat meat, fish, or the byproducts of meat and fish. (Technically a vegetarian who eats fish is a pescetarian). That seems pretty straight forward to me. Am I missing something? Or am I just overstating the intelligence of my friends and family? :/

Permalink Reply by Kim Pate on February 22, 2012 at 1:47pm One kid asked me if I just ate, like, tomatoes and lettuce......It's funny how many things are vegan when you actually start to look for it though.
Permalink Reply by Alaska Is Beautiful on March 27, 2012 at 11:04pm I've heard that question so many times in so many various ways. Yes, it should be simple...Apparently, it is not.
Some people are like, "So, you're a vegetarian? That's crazy! What do you eat?"
I explain it to them.
Then they say, "Oh, so you must eat a PB&J sandwich, like, every day, huh?"
I explain that I'm allergic to peanuts and peanut products.
Their reaction: "OH MY GOD! You're a vegetarian AND you can't eat peanuts!?!?!"
I nod yes.
"WHAT DO YOU EAT!?!?!"
The same exact thing I told you the first time, idiot (excuse my meanness. I'm not usually so hard on people)!
