Comment by DeShaun on March 23, 2013 at 10:04am Teresa, I would suggest trying to write in a different place then where you usually write.
Comment by Teresa on March 21, 2013 at 6:40pm Hey guys, I love writing but I write mostly on Fanfic, and well I'm kinda suffering from Writer's block, any help?
Comment by E.E. Finn on March 19, 2013 at 6:37pm Take a look at my new literary blog! www.oraclebone.co.uk
We're offering free writing and editing advice and we're publishing new and unpublished authors with hopes of making the site a digital publishing house.
Come get involved!

Comment by Zoe Sherwhovian on March 17, 2013 at 5:08pm Okay, so I was wondering any of you who have been published, do you think it is easier or more difficult to get published as a young author?
Comment by ZZZZZZ :The Mouse: on March 11, 2013 at 9:08pm can i post songs/poems here?
Comment by Heather Job on March 10, 2013 at 11:33pm Hi everyone! I have recently become involved with Dance Marathon, a collegiate philanthropic organization that raises money for Children's Miracle Network hospitals. The money we raise provides medical services, education, and resources for sick children and their families, and the dance marathon itself serves as a celebration of the lives of the Miracle Families we support. I would really appreciate some Nerdfighter support in decreasing worldsuck, for the kids! Together, we can re-define miracles :) http://www.helpmakemiracles.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.par...
Comment by Caroline LM on February 16, 2013 at 8:22am @Laura, I hate to give this as advice, but it does work. Writer's block tends to lift if you're a little... out of it, I guess. For some reason, sleep deprivation, illness or a little alcohol (small glass of wine, not vodka shots...) all help to alleviate writer's block.
My suggestion? Stay up really late one night, just doing whatever, until you're feeling really tired and try then.
Or try really monotonous work. I think I wrote some of my best stuff while temping.

For me, personally, ideas just come naturally, and I can't force them. And they come often enough that I don't deal with writer's block very much. But I have an idea or two regarding it.
Firstly, try to find inspiration. Seek it around you. Read a genre you are unfamiliar with, do something you are uncomfortable with. Just generally seek out a new experience.
Secondly, write. Well, not so much writing, since there's no inspiration. Just vomit some words or ideas onto a page or application, just to get yourself thinking. Expressing ideas in whatever form it may be (verbal, written, artwork, etc) disregarding the quality of the work may get the "creative juices flowing."
