What do you guys do to get motivated for writing? 13 Replies

I'm kind of lost here.  I'm wanting to write a book, and haven't been in the writing mood lately.  Not really Writer's Block, just haven't really been in the mood lately.  Was wondering what you guys…Continue

Writer's Forum?

I *just* started writing (loving it, too!) but I am in need of a good writer's forum to ask questions at. Small things like, if I am writing a description of a character and the color of makeup she…Continue

Stumbling the other day a link came up saying, "25 Things that Writers Should Stop Doing" and I read it, despite thinking it would be the same ole stuff. You know what I'm talking about, "Stop…Continue

The reasons I am here.

Reason no. 1:

Against all the odds i am sticking to my urge to write a manuscript  because I've conceived and its too late forsake it.

Reason no.2

Everyone at my home is either an engineer doctor or a would be engineer. They have little respect for writers and writing. (sucks)

Reason no.3

Its hard to go on pumping all the assurances in your own mind when you are getting none externally.

Reason no. 4

I really believe in what i am at. It could solve things a bit for others and it in turn would give me a lot of inner peace.

Reason no.5

Ive finished a rough draft. Next step is the research work but i feel quite overwhelmed. I find it hard convincing myself that I can make a point being a woman. It just gets to me so bad. And yes I need a to plan things and have even tried but i seem to be jumping back and forth in it. So please feel free to say what you think could help.

I have a Figment Account that I have been posting stuff on. A gander or even a glance would be appreciated.. Updating is not common but I post when I can.

My Figment Page

Thanks :) I have an original novel (maybe not sure what to do with it yet) and sometimes I write passages/poetry as well. Thanks :)

I'm trying to get my first novel published and the publishing company is taking forever to reply to me. They are busy, granted, but i'm pretty sure that's a bad sign. Opinions? (sorry for asking a question with an obvious answer)

Today one of my favourite authors is blogging at about how she came to write novels on the blog of Long and Short Reviews.

You can also participate in the blog’s weekly CONTEST, if you answer following question correctly and mail the answer to lasrcontests@gmail.com: What language is Julia Fellner’s mother tongue?

It’s totally awesome, so I can only advise you to check it out. She's a great inspiration.

Hey everybody, I'm Michal. I'm new here to practically everything- including writing, but I've just started a blog and I'm not ashamed to say I'm terrified. But It would mean alot to me if my fellow nerdfighters would read it and give me comments and/or critisisms.. http://organizedcon.blogspot.com/

If you're planning on doing NaNoWriMo, there's another group on here specifically for that...I'm doing it, too...best of luck!

Dusting off my pens and getting back in the game. The creativity is back and I couldn't be happier. I'm currently putting together ideas for a novel I'm going to write in November. Yes, I know how crazy ambitious this sounds but I'm an all-or-none kind of person, heh.
