What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?

I am a multi tiered nedfighter... so complex that it would take an entire blog to explain, so right now I will settle on the procrastinating nerdfighter.

About Me:

I live in Arizona, and prefer to drown myself in local music. Until recently, I ran a website dedicated to supporting and promoting the local scene(AZoverload.com)... and I still have it, but since a move is in my near future I am taking a break and deciding how I wish to continue it. IF I wish to continue it. Since I am no longer engaging in the 3 weekly podcast I did for the site, I have lots of time to post on message boards :-) I have uploaded some of my favorite AZ locals on this page. Check them out!

Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more

This year I have read many, and very few I would consider a loss of time. I finished an Abundance of Katherines and am absolutely in love with it... so clever. I also read John Green's Looking for Alaska, which had been on my wishlist at amazon for about 6 months - I got lucky and found this awesome used bookstore called Bookmans.... BOOKMAN'S IS TOTALLY AWESOME, btw.

This time last year my favorite author was Clive Barker. I am a nerd, a collector, and quoter of all things Barker.. so back off.

I kicked off my new years resolution, which involved reading for fun and not crappy computer science books I have spent the last ten years reading for school.. I read The Kite Runner which was totally different than anything I had ever read; I am total Horror Junkie.

Then I slipped back into my favorite genre, young adult. I finished off the the Harry Potter Series, The Golden Compass, The Book Thief, I am the Messenger, Getting the Girl, FIghting Ruben Wolf, The Twilight Series, Tithe, Valient, Ironside, 13 Reasons Why, Story of a Girl, A Certain Slant of LIght, Blue Bloods, The CIty of Ember, The People of Sparks, The Good Neighbors (Holly Blacks Graphic novel... I love graphic novels!!)... and I probably forgot something...

ANYway...

I am at a point where I will read almost anything YA... so if you've got any good suggestions let me know. I have a stack of about 5 sitting on the shelf, but I am devouring them rapidly.

Week of September 15: read Slaughterhouse Five, 13 Little Blue Envelopes
Week of September 22: read Masquerade, reading The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing Traitor to the Nation (hold on that one... I sort of lost interest in this book, and instead of reading through 300 more pages - I sort of tabled it, and will come back to it later.. when I run out of books :-)
Week of September 29: 21 Proms (sorry Octavian I just bought 5 new books yesterday... it's going to be a while before we rekindle our friendship), Peeps
Week of October 6: Tyrell, reading Sight
Week of October 13: read Paper Towns, Sight
Week of October 20: finished Sight, Let it Snow
Week of October 27: started Marked
Week of November 3: NaNoWriMo, finished Marked, reading Revelations
Week of November 10:finished Revelations, Reading Betrayed... still NaNoWriMo

The Mission: Sticky-ING Paper Towns!!!

I cheated.

I didn't have to wait until today to get Paper Towns, Borders in Tolleson/Avondale had it on the shelf on Monday, so I bought it.

Don't hate.

I finished the book today :-) Besides working, I am also a domestic super hero, so I couldn't read it non-stop-all-in-one-day.
