Hi everyone, I'm a first year at York University in Toronto and I was wondering if anyone has ANY IDEA AT ALL if there are any Nerdfighters at York. Because the few friends I have made do not…Continue

I probably sound like I shouldn't be here, since I barely know anything about Nerdfighters. My current question is, when someone asks "What kind of Nerdfighter are you?" what does that mean? I…Continue

I read this book because it was mentioned by Hank Green in one of his VEDA videos and I happened to find it in the library the same day.
There's not much I can say about it other than that it's brilliant. As you probably know, I don't read a lot of science fiction (hardly any), but that didn't stop me from appreciating everything about this book.
The main focus of the first of the Hyperion Cantos is mostly flashbacks, as the…

Another book that I had to wait months to get from the library, The Emperor's Soul was surprising from the moment I saw it on the shelf. For one thing, when I saw the cover and description on goodreads, my mind somehow projected it into a huge, epic volume, hardcover and like eight hundred pages long.
So I was surprised to find this skinny little hundred-and-seventy-page paperback instead. But that's really beside the point and you could care less, right?…

I don't know what I was expecting when I requested this book from the library (it just came out last year so a lot of people keep taking it out) and waited like three months before I could get it. By then I had forgotten what I had read on goodreads that made me want to read it in the first place. But anyway, Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore is a lot different from most of the books I read. But it is very interesting indeed.
I don't have quotes or much to tell you about…

Like The Cup of the World, The Widow and the King is beautifully written and compelling. The story has a little more action than the first book, and some more loveable characters. I absolutely adore Ambrose as a protagonist. Chawlin was one of my favourite characters. And Sophia was an interesting addition for a second narrator. She doesn't…
