Ewan McGregor Lovers

I noticed that a larger number of nerds than I would expect have said they would love to do their happy dance with Ewan McGregor or Obi-Wan Kenobi. Therefore, seeing no group for the amazing man, I took it upon myself to make one. This group is for those of us who love Ewan McGregor (or just Obi-Wan Kenobi) and aren't afraid to show it!See More

Profile Information

What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
The Indie Nerdfighter (I mean indie in a ton of different ways...so...I'm NOT putting myself into a box like you might think).
About Me:
I love music. Music is the root of all awesome (disregarding Nerdfighteria of course). I listen to music, make music, live music, breathe music (and I'm talking the good kind of music).

I am a word lover. Words are who I am.

I am also a vegetarian. Not a vegan, but a vegetarian. No, I don't judge people who eat meat (which I why I don't expect people to judge me for NOT eating meat).

I love to act. I like to see myself on Broadway one day...but...I can't say I think I'm quite that good enough.

My family doesn't support me in the least. So...my dreams of being a novelist and broadway actress and, well, everything else aren't exactly things I can broadcast outside of Nerdfighters.

I've been playing "the game" since third grade, and don't ask what it is because once I tell you you have to play (some people are bad sports, awesome or no).

I think that nerdfighters are the greatest things that have happened to me.

Low self esteem was invented in my soul (My soul has been preserved over many million years...possibly...).

So important it needed to be repeated: I love words. I read and write constantly.

I like to blog...but I don't think I'm very good at it. No one comments on my blogs...so...

I love Obert Skye because of his great comedy in writing fantasy and his amazing quote: "Belive--It is our best defense." I do believe.
Here's what I believe: No "fiction" author can write with so much emotion and heat to just be "writing'. There must be at least a portion of truth in what they publish for milliions to see. I mean, come on. Do you think Harry Potter really never lived? Do you really think the Wizarding world doesn't exist? Why do you think Muggles are seperated? Why do you think no one heard of wizards until J.K. Rowling decided to come clean? Obert Skye is telling the truth. He wants us to be ready for the day when finally the "fantasy" we laugh at comes alive. When the truth behind writing is revealed.

If you asked me who is my childhood author, I'd say Obert Skye. I recommend all of his books to anyone sho asks. And he's not a 5-year-old book author. He writes YA books. And I love him so very much. He even tweeted me saying it was an honour to be tweeting me (because I'd basically spammed him with love after I found him).

Have I scared you? Sorry.

This is my mantra:
Still dreaming. Still writing. Still breathing...but slowly dying.

I'm kind of a depressed soul, but I can hide it when necessary. That's why I'm so obssessed with Nerdfighteria. I can be myself and know that people--absolute strangers--will back me up and support me just as I support them.

And that is why I thank all of you who are reading this. You guys are the power behind the awesome.

I love discussing things...especially things I don't know about so I can learn...so...yep.
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more

Dreaming

Just being outside (especially when the moon's out)

Thinking about my life and how I fit into it

Fighting my many problems

Fighting against world suck (even though that's implied)

Thinking (I think a lot. It's probably why my family hates me so much)

Playing instruments

Acting

Perfoming

Spending time on the Internet (obviously)

Discovering new music

Going to antique music stores, old book stores, vintage clothing shops...places like that.

I want to learn how to knit...

My Most Recent Addictions:

STILL Twitter (I know...I know... *hangs head in shame*)

Fanfiction (There's a whole world out there!)

*Nerdfighters used to be here, but I haven't been online in so long...I can't rightfully say that*

Writing (that's always an addiction)

Making music (ditto)

Hating myself for using words like "ditto" (I mean, come on?)

and...I think that's it.

I'm a Nerdfighter. What can I say?

My favourite bird is the owl...though the raven comes close behind it.

My favourite colour is grey.

My favourite mythical flying creature is the eastern dragon.

My favourite land creature is the wolf.

Whenever I take quizzes (one of my favourite things to do online is take quizzes and surveys and personality tests that are free, deep, and actually work) I'm either a wolf or an owl...so...they're my favourite.
UPDATE: I recently took two quizzes which said I was a spider and a meerkat...so...we'll see about that...

According to years worth of quizzes my aura is either purple or black.
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
Random Things that weren't on my head a few seconds ago.
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
Obi-Wan Kenobi and any Nerdfighter that wants to unleash their inner awesome through dance...Always myself (because that's usually the only time I'd be audacious enough to dance as terribly as I do)...And lastly. Mrs. Moorhead, my English teacher. I would love to happy dance with her. She is the epitome of high school awesome.

Alaska Is Beautiful's Blog

Faction Before Blood

So, I have decided to write another blog.

I havn't in a while...and I wanted to, mainly because of a lot of recent turns my life has taken and my need to write about it some kind of way. I had been trying unsuccessfully to blog about something that I will cover in this blog, but somehow I just couldn't. Thankfully, in a full-on rant session email that I sent to a close friend of mine last night, I have loosened up my soul just enough to blog, I think.

In case you don't already…

Lack of Creativity Leads Me to Make This Completely Unrelated Post Title

I guess the post title could be "Honesty" since that title was unnervingly honest ("Honesty? What is this 'honesty' you speak of?" quote the raven of American society...or most society, really).

Original ideas for the title include "YOLO" and "You Only Live Once?"

But before you scramble in the other direction, hear me out. I am typing what I'd like to call an enjoyable (if not completely time-wasting) blog.

If you haven't heard of the acronym YOLO, it stands for "You…

Keep Your Fingers Crossed

Today I was sitting at my grandmother's house in the living room alone, as I often find myself when everyone else is off and busy being without me (I'm a nerd with peculiar dreams, what can I say?).

This time around however, instead of writing, reading, talking to myself, pretending to be Hamlet, etc., I decided to watch television.

Now, television and I have a weird relationship (as in I usually watch TV shows on the internet, so the actual TV doesn't like me…

The Fault in Our Stars, Again

Yes, this blog is about The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

Yes, I know everything is about The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

No, I don't think it is old. Nor do I think it will ever be old because it does not have the capability of being old. Have you forgotten that it was written byJohn Green? Let this serve as a reminder.

Crazy Nerdfighter Pick-Up Lines

I wanted to blog.

Though this is not entirely what I had in mind...I think this will suffice as something to blog about.

Viewer discretion is advised...you may not be able to handle the six pick-up lines I am about to type for you.

"So, I saw you wearing your Pizza John T-shirt a few days back, and, uh, I think it's pretty jokes."

"It might be just me, but something about the way your fingers furiously fly across your calculator is…

LOL it really is. Of course, it's a bit of a redundant statement as all Nerdfighters are made of awesome.

Thank you!

Quiet is quite good, I'm enjoying it very much. Semi-hooked is not exactly the word I'd use to describe my situation with Supernatural. I think I'm probably obsessed.

Oh don't worry, this sticking to a story that I'm doing at the moment comes after a long line of unfinished stories where I did the exact opposite; in fact, this story happened as a total accident when taking a break from writing one of my others. I just sat down and wrote what was on my mind, fell in love with the characters a little bit and realised I could develop it :') But yeah, you totally should get a Tumblr! :3 It really is quite addictive, I'll warn you now, but I still enjoy it. Let me know if you do make one :)

At 5:08am on April 8, 2012, Lonna Mathie said…

Oh, thankyou very much! :3 I was on Fanfiction when I was about twelve so I didn't even mention that because the stories are excruciating, haha. I don't have a lot of things completed either, and I know what you mean about getting a lot of ideas and needing to start them straight away, but I'm trying to stick to the one I'm writing just now and finish it c: You should get a Tumblr! I'm a little bit addicted to it, although admittedly more to my general one than my writing/books one :')

At 12:20pm on April 7, 2012, Lonna Mathie said…

I have a Tumblr account separate from my personal one where I post snippets of writing and talk about books, which is http://lonnatalksbooks.tumblr.com/ :') I don't really post any longer pieces anywhere, I used to use deviantArt but I kind of abandoned that. What about you? As a fellow Nerdfighter, I'm sure your writing is equally as - if not more - awesome :)

At 4:39pm on April 6, 2012, Lonna Mathie said…

Oh, wow, that sounds awesome. It also sounds like the sorts of things that I just can't seem to write :') I guess I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic so the things I write tend to be a bit like that, although I like to hope they're not sickeningly romantic. I guess I like to write about things that are close to home, although I'm aware that I should branch out and I sometimes write about more fantastical things too, like magic and dragons and such. I also recently read 1984 for the first time which was all dystopian and which I thoroughly enjoyed, although I've never written anything like that myself. :)

At 4:50am on April 1, 2012, Lonna Mathie said…

As a newbie I'm hoping this is the right way to reply, so... Thankyou! I'm glad to be here, everybody I've spoken to so far seems lovely and I'm sure I'll enjoy it here as much as - or possibly more than - Tumblr, once I figure everything out :)

Oh and by the way, in response to you being another aspiring novelist: what kinds of things do you write? c:
