Although I love writing, I find it particularly difficult to write about myself. In the place of a self-important biographical paragraph, I'm going to write a teeny list of things that I enjoy.
I REALLY LIKE:
Reading, laughing, sleeping, watching Sailor Moon and other programmes I'm probably too old for, playing the ukulele (badly), eating junk food, watching people in supermarkets, collecting obnoxious hats, playing video games that aren't cool enough to list, working in the library, smiling at strangers, platform shoes, Oxford commas, matte lipstick, gappy teeth, overuse of parentheses, good manners, Egyptian mythology, and being a Nerdfighter.
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
Like most of the people signed up to this website, I am a massive fan of novels written by John Green. Authors I also enjoy include; Douglas Coupland, Haruki Murakami, Jeffrey Eugenides, Joshua Ferris, Joyce Tyldesley, Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde, George Orwell, Polly Toynbee, Hadley Freeman, Caitlin Moran and Kazuo Ishiguro. (NB: I am aware that the majority of that list are not exclusively authors, but this is my list, so I think that it's probably okay if I slot them all under that umbrella term.)
I love watching films/movies, but I'm not a movie nerd by any stretch of the imagination. My current favourites are John Hughes films starring Molly Ringwald - the clothes in Pretty in Pink leave me weak at the knees!
I don't want to leave any of my favourite musicians out of this list, so I'm just going to copy and paste over a list from my Last.fm. Sorry if this is cheating! "I'm into indie, alternative, electronic, pop and female vocalists, including:
Miniature Tigers, Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse, The Magnetic Fields, The National, Belle and Sebastian, Ra Ra Riot, Adam Green, Tom Waits, Patrick Wolf, Avi Buffalo, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, The Smiths, The Morning Benders, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Ray Peacock, Devendra Banhart, Elliott Smith, Ray Peacock and Ed Gamble, Taking Back Sunday, Alvin Band, Lady Gaga, Carissa's Wierd, Kate Bush, Joy Division, Red House Painters, of Montreal, Darwin Deez, Spooky, Band of Horses, The Strange Boys, The Dodos, My Morning Jacket, The Unicorns, Neon Indian, Wavves, Vampire Weekend, Animal Collective, Britney Spears, Islands, Kanye West, Neutral Milk Hotel, Boards of Canada, Air, The Charlatans, Yuck, Morrissey, Die Antwoord, Fleetwood Mac, Wild Beasts, Beastie Boys."

So I was creeping your profile and perusing your tastes in awe, and was about to write a message on your wall, and then noticed that you left me a message. Welcome to nerdfighteria, Alex! I've over at GoodReads.com/Lennonist and facebook.com/krishyanity if you wanna friend me. ;^D I'm thrilled to befriend a Liverpudlian and fellow Beatleologist! I'm in envy that you live in London. Cheers, and hopefully talk to you soon!
If you ever wanted to move to Shermer, IL; if you've yelled to the Goblin King; if your idea of romance is a boom box (and John Cusack) outside your window; maybe you've called someone a 'peck' or a 'stupid daikini!' - then this is the place for you!

"I tried to send a message, but now this bloody website is prompting me to add you as a friend, is that a little forward? I'll stick to a wall comment, I think.

For those who understand that tea is the answer to all of life's questions. For those who use tea leaves. For those who use teabags. For those who haven't quite mastered the art of 'the perfect cuppa'. For those who just like tea. This is for you.
