What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
the heaps and burning coals of wisdom unwasted
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
just a thought that occurred to me that if nerds are square we can, essentially by rolling, make the dimensions of a cube. So essentially, nerds have a special right to say "that's just how we cube" instead of "that's just how we roll"
for one of my less lucid pieces at that
theoretical layers by Ellie Dan Kim
and the snowflakes that hide behind our eyes,
as we compress them to close, melting around our hearts,
dampening a too exciting feeling, falling on a cedar tree
from whence we fell, laughing, and I think perhaps
hello nerdfighters, today has met me in a wonderfully fine mood, so fine a mood in fact that I've decided to finally come back here. So I know you're not wondering "what has put you in such a fine mood Ellie? What makes you so despicably cheerful when a great deal of us spend our days in Missouri?" I'll tell you, please worry, but yet I have some apologies to make and some other miscellaneous news.
To Noelle and also to my jedi master and other people I happened to discuss this… Continue
I promised a sample of my writing in my last blog post and so here's a short story for y'all to chew on, I put it here as a blog because I don't know where else I would put it.
A Declaration of Independence
Reality bites. Some mornings you wake up and you just don’t want to be yourself anymore. Some mornings you can’t. Mornings like that the window in my room tempts me a little, tells me to sneak out a while; climb down the tree and go. I hit the street and hesitate… Continue
It wasn't ALL the girls I liked, it was all the girls I had feelings for (more than just "oh she's cute"). And it was actually sixteen girls total, and I'm 23 and I just got out of a six year relationship. There were some overlapping... but it was kind of fun to do. =P
And apparently I've completely lost the ability to leave comments that are more than just me rambling to hide the fact that I've lost the ability to leave comments without pointless rambling to make it seem like I've got more to say than I actually have.
I'm not sure that even made sense, but it is almost 4am here (wtf - I should probably sleep, I thought it was only about midnight. Um, you didn't really need to know that...).
So... how've you been? You joining the other awesome/crazy people by doing NaNoWriMo? :]
Impetus. Impetus is one of my favorite words. Mostly, it got promoted to "one of the favorites" because it played a big role in a dream I had. The short version of the dream is that a crazy sort-of millionaire prophosizes the end of the world and builds this giant dome looming in the distance where he and a few other folks can live in safety from the impending nuclear holocaust. The dome is called "The Impetus."
That said, I'd rather like it if we started a correspondence. My camp job starts soon and during camp season I often find myself largely uninspired. I think my brain simplifies itself to be closer to the level of a 5 year old and it gets hard to find interest in theoretical and creative subjects. Basically, I think your correspondence would be a good reminder that I'm more human. You would probably wind up inspiring me, in turn, which would be nice.
You can email me whenever on my gmail account. It's noelle.751. Friend me on facebook. My last name is Garza, I should pop up immediately.
Did you say adventure? I'm always down for adventure. Well, within reason.
And shoot away with your questions. You can message me if need be, if you're afraid of the nerdfighter lurkers.
Furthermore, I was perusing your summer list and I noticed "learn the names of flowers and they're meanings." I, myself, am trying to be an amateur floriographist. I even bought a book! In so far, I think my favorite flower/meaning combo is acanthus which symbolizes the fine arts. Acanthus is such a proud, ancient looking flower...it works.
