I’m always seeing these types of sayings: “I’m really quiet at first, but once you get to know me, I never shut up!<3!” or “I may seem shy, but once you get to know me, you’ll find I’m one of the craziest people you’ve ever met!!!xoxo” Well I ‘m here to say that these don’t apply to me. I'm a "writer" who supposedly "likes to write". . .

But this has literally been my week. Wake up, having decided (for sure this time) to write. Then, I get caught up doing entirely pointless things…for 16 hours. And ultimately I find myself lying in bed at 3 in the morning, having done zero word making. Then I promise myself I’ll do it tomorrow and fall asleep.See More

My name is Brittany Parliament (yes, like the cigarettes and the governmental branch and the funk band) and I live in northern Michigan. I enjoy sitting outside with my notebooks with the intention of writing but ultimately just sitting there thinking for hours, reading fiction, singing loudly the moment I'm left alone in the house, and laughing at my own jokes.
