"Everything is Illuminated. I loved the parts written by Alex, but I felt like the parts written by Jonathan were like a mimic of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but I don't think that JSF knew what he was doing. GGMs metaphors made sense to me, and I…"

"Much of the first story is based off the folktale "The six swans". But it is not some generic retelling of a folktale. Marillier takes you into the psyche of Sorcha (the main character) and what she must do to save the lives of her…"

"I tried to read The Help and found myself unable to get interested at all. This may or may not have been because the movie had me expecting more of the book than it wanted to deliver in the first few chapters. I gave up pretty quickly."

"The last two books in the Saga of Darren Shan. I am doing a reread this year, so I might change my mind. But (no spoilers), the last two books just get a little too much for me and I hated the ending so much. It's pretty original I guess, but…"

What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
Music, movie and book worm nerdfighter!!!!
About Me:
I am constantly doing something. I am a busybody that takes pleasure in reading anything. Since I work at a library, I often check out more books than I can read in two weeks...but so does everybody else I work with. I am also a writer. I've written magazine articles as a freelancer and I constantly have ideas floating in my mind (usually when I'm sleeping so I forget them when I wake up, ugh!).
Aside from reading and writing and work, I enjoy music. I play the piano and guitar and I sing all of the time and when I am alone in the basement of the library I sing at the top of my lungs... I exercise, a lot, and take long walks. I draw and I crochet. I love learning new languages (I'm learning Spanish and Chinese currently). I garden. I bake. I love photography and I am such a ham that I take a lot of self-portraits. I cherish my creativity and the creativity of others. I have an open mind and I go with the flow. Blah. Blah. Blah. I dance around in grocery stores and I often talk to myself. Yes, I am a little nutty, but life would be boring without a little nuttiness!
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
Books: Harry Potter, anything written by the amazing Robin Hobb and Juliet Marillier, The Stranger, Portnoy's Complaint, American Gods, The Mabinogion, Steps

Movies: The Waitress, Slumdog Millionaire, Grey Gardens, Delhi Belly, Hanna, Children of Men, Amelie, Serenity, Away We Go, Monsoon Wedding, The Producers, pretty much anything with people singing randomly in the street...that's probably why I have a weakness for Bollywood films.

TV shows: Mad Men, Firefly, Game of Thrones, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Family Guy, Weeds, Breaking Bad, Little Britain USA, The Lost Room

Music: Edith Piaf, Katie Melua, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Janelle Monae, The Black Keys
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?

If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Musician

Doo doo de doo waaaa doo de doo! (<-- That's you playing something.) Everyone appreciates the band/orchestra geeks and the pretty voices. Whether you sing in the choir, participate in a school/local band, or sit at home writing music, you contribute a joy to society that everyone can agree on. Yay! Welcome to actually doing something for poor, pathetic human souls. (Just kidding.)
