Perhaps you stated your point too strongly here? However, they are not in equal footing with falsifiability. Evolution could be proven wrong with the simplest of evidence against it. Yet, there is still no evidence against it. Therein, it is a mu...

To claim that there is no evidence shows poor understanding of the scientific process. When there is evidence against the current formulation of the theory, it is adjusted to meet the evidence, rather than abolished entirely. This is a reasonable...

For Bush's first election, there were a lot of issues in Florida requiring a recount. The actual recount policy went to the state supreme court to decide on and not everyone was happy. People who follow this stuff claim that a lot of the same issu...

Livejournal and Slashdot handle that problem pretty well. Threaded comments are much better at handling rabbit trail conversations. I can come back and while the discussion has veered off to parts unknown, I can still discuss the original topic a...

I see burning the American Flag as comparable to burning a copy of the constitution. It is allowed under Freedom of Speech and should be protected, but I see no reason to ever commend it. I hate the Patriot Act too. I think that we're in agreeme...

Right, it is just a rule of thumb. Sorry, for some reason, I can't reply to your response. Also, thank you for being a moderating force in this discussion. I like your approach.

Occam's Razor says that you shouldn't over-complicate the matter. Literally: "entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity" That is slightly different than your statement in that it doesn't state which one is correct or assume that you can ju...

Historically, stories were passed around and told by anyone. They were "owned" by the community in that everyone would criticize if they didn't like how the story was told. Fans still do this today when someone else tries to tell the story and do ...

I'm planning to go into this deeper in a future blog post, but I think that the benefit of marriage is a commitment to a "right" way of living. Marriage is established through a covenant and covenants are not meant to be broken. On the other hand...

I think that you're right on the passage from Job. I'm guessing that this idiom has entered more mainstream use outside of the Bible and John is referencing that. Looking at the passage, it did seem like one of his more coherent arguments. Most o...

Its from her perspective, but she is so detached at the end, it seems like somebody else is doing the crying. Nice job though. You picked a good topic.

Definitely. Many Christians do not become Christians out of convenience. They have literally tried just about every alternative and become very frustrated because of it. When they become Christians, they wonder how they could have missed it all th...

Can Fox News Or Any News Organization Be Fair And Balanced?

First, I don't really watch any news network anymore. I get most of my news from the Internet. If I had to watch one, I might as well watch Fox, because I am tend to be conservative. I have heard a lot of criticisms of them, some of which are probably right and some of which are probably wrong. This isn't meant to be a defense of them, however.

I was interested in writing an article on this, but somebody else beat me to it. He handles it pretty well though:… Continue

Don't Be Alarmed When You Encounter A Dinosaur!

Sometimes I get e-mails from Korean MMORPGs telling me to try them out. I usually don't because
1.) They don't understand good game design
2.) They don't understand good level design

Occasionally I do try one one out and I still like seeing their advertisements. A few days ago, I got a laugh out of NIDA Online.

Socionics And Comparing Personalities Of Fictional Characters

Among my many hobbies, one of them is figuring out people's personalities and how they compare with other friends of mine. One of the most popular personality typing systems, Meyers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), is reasonably good for this type of discussion.

Another, much less popular system, is Socionics. It is kind of like a cousin to MBTI in that they both have 16 different personality types and the types roughly match up to each other.… Continue

Bug is not a word used by biologists, many mollusks, insects, arachnids and crustaceans are considered bugs, it is considered to be an unintelligent word.
