- About Me:
- I'm Carissa. I'm a nerdfighter as of...well, since always but only now coming to embrace the title. I go to college, I write (two published short stories *happy dance*), and I read--a lot, I mean it is probably unhealthy to read as much as I do. What does sunlight look like?
- Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
- Books: Jim Butcher's Dresden Series, Harry Potter, Margaret Atwood's Surfacing, Larry McMurtry, Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lacky, Tolkien, Barry Hannah. I love a short story by Robert Stone called "Helping". Seriously, it is an awesome short story. Andre Dubus, another awesome short story called "Killings". I would kill to have written that story.
TV: The West Wing, Doctor Who, Sherlock, QI, Argumental, Mock the Week, HIGNFY, Stargate, Inspector Lynley.
Movies: Penelope, Finding Neverland, the whole slew of Harry Potters, Star Wars, some Star Trek, City Slickers, Dan in Real Life, Hamlet w/ David Tennant (although I'm not sure if that counts as a movie since it was a play first)
Music: Tim Minchin, Mitch Benn, Chameleon Circuit, the music videos from The Piano Guys on youtube, a lot of Broadway musicals, Freelance Whales, House of Heroes, Relient K.

Poem for a Fangirl
I know I posted this in the video section, but I really enjoyed making this video. It came out of desperation...ok, not desperation, but i was having a hard time figuring out what i should do for my VEDA vlog, and i just sat down with a pen and paper and this came out. Strong Women, Small Brain
I have read a book. By all accounts, it was a bad book (horrible, inconceivably horrible) riddled with plot holes the size of Dalek battle fleet. That is not my problem (48% of problem). My problem is that the readers of this novel are told to believe that the heroine (Sara) is an independent woman, and that is why she acts like a complete moron when faced with danger. This…
