Our show is on Youtube, like, ten times. 0.o
I'm really sad I didn't get to see your show. We were at lunch. :(
Your show sounds so cool! I'll bet it was really entertaining to watch.
Yeah, indoor marching is so awkward. It made the endings of pieces sound awesome though.
We just went into the stands and watched the last couple of bands before the retreat. All the drum majors went onto the field and they announced the winners. No one went on to the field, and we have not gotten our medals yet. We don't give out the medals until a while after the competition. I'm sure that is different than other bands though.
Yeah, that's right. How did you find out?
My director said we probably preform around 10 or 10:30. What about you?
Congratulations!! I don't think I have ever been in a competition where there have been huge inconsistencies between prelims and finals. That sounds a little weird. Are there crying girls often?
Yeah, there was lots of rain. There was a delay in the middle of our warm up and we had to be relocated to someplace covered. But we were only under there for about 15 minutes and we warmed up for a little while longer then performed. We went before the real rain started. So was Bell, who we finally got to see. I heard some band performed during some really heavy rain. It rained during our show once last year, but it wasn't hard and it was during a really slow part so it was kinda cool. We had a break where we could go home and nap, and about halfway through that we were told that finals was cancelled. Our director didn't tell us the results until around 8. Not sure when they were announced to everyone, but I was really anxious to know the results. It went Marcus, Hebron, LD Bell, and then Haltom. Those were the prelims results and they just took the top 4 to state.
OH GOD NO! The first time any middle schoolers probably even think about marching is about two weeks before summer starts before their freshman year when we have a little camp so they can learn to go to ready position and carry.
I wonder how these rumors start... But I can't say I don't participate. I have heard that Bell started practicing their show last year and that only juniors and seniors march. I have no idea if these are true or not, but that's just what I heard.
Good luck at state! Maybe I will see you there.
