That's not the name of the book - there are a lot of books in the series, and it's technically called the "Southern Vampire Mystery Series." Don't hate.

As loathe as I am to defend Twilight - especially because I've never read the other books in question - realize that it has been said that there are no new ideas. Everything is a combination of other things, just done differently (wow, do you think…

I just have to say; Sookie Stackhouse Series? That's just a stupid name for a book.

Profile Information

What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?
an artsy one
About Me:
i'm 14.
i'm 5'7".
i have magical, medium brown hair.

why is it magical?-
-b/c it's randomly really straight and randomly really poofy. o_o

i'm pretty intelligent, going into Alg 2 next year, but english is def my favorite subject.

i'm very devoted to music.
i have been running a Song of the Day (SotD) for the last year at my school to increase rap-obsessed sillies' music-mind-encyclopedias.

>>meaning, I've been picking a song everyday of different genres and artists, became known for it, and now am asked by people daily to tell them of yet another band/song they've never heard of :)

i'm not very athletic but enjoy running and dancing a lot. i have played the flute since 5th grade, and the bass guitar for the last year.

I have been taking French classes since fifth grade, but they have been kinda a fail but I love the language anyways! I' went to Paris earlier in the summer and it was THE BOMB. But not gonna lie, the U.S. is the best for residency. Fellow citizens of the United States of America: be greatful everyday for what you have and can have.

i have been in several plays and musicals. i am currently taking flamenco dancing lessons and i like spending time drawing and doing various artwork.

i also sing for a very disorganized, called As It Ends. we're still trying to figure out what exactly is Ending, but i have the ultimate confidence that we'll know in due time.
no im just kidding we definately fail on everything deep, so just accept it
Favorite Books, Movies, Music, and more
the Harry Potter series, the Twilight series, the Eragon series, the Golden Compass, the Subtle Knife, the Artemis Fowl series, and a LOT more. I read everything and anything I can get my hands on. But mainly HP, he's my man.
What's your favorite thing to put on your head?
tin-foil so the aliens can't read my mind
If you could do your happy dance with anyone who would it be with?
that cute guy I saw on the plane from Paris to Philadelphia. I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUT I LOVE YOU!
When did you start watching B20

INJUSTICE IN THE INDUSTRY, minorly..

After messaging this topic I realized how really unfair the industry or writing can be.
Any fan of the band Boys Like Girls would know that they are not only releasing a new album soon but have already released a single from that album, called Love Drunk.
After seeing the twice last summer I was pretty thrilled and promptly began listening to the new song and learning the lyrics etcetera etcetera.. Then, it came to my attention that the chorus of the song Love Drunk was almost exactly shared the… Continue

Long Time, No Nerd

I've given in to fun things like the pool lately and therefore I have had minimum time on the computer. Summer is here, if anywhere.
90 degrees a day is far, far to hot to not go to the pool or seek air conditioning in a B&N. It's not leisure people, it's surival.
Our band "As It Begins" (named by the drummer, Alex) had another slightly productive practice yesterday. It makes me laugh, we get hardly anything done because we play covers for a little bit and the guitarist and drummer st… Continue

GONE!

Just a short memo to my friends who I've been talking to via wall posts: I'm leaving for Paris in approx. 10minutes so I will most likely not be online so pleeeeease don't be offended if I don't respond in the next week.
All the best,
Emily

HP Pondering

So I'm rereading Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince for the bajillionith time (i'ts my faaaave) and I noticed that one of Gryffindor's passwords in it was "abstinence." Now, I thought that was kind of random, contrasting to "Mimble Mintonia" (I have NOOOO idea how to spell it) but you get the idea. It seemed very unmagical.

What I've been asking myself has been questions like, "Is J.K. Rowling sending out a message or is it actually related?"
I answered myself promptly… Continue

Starting a New.. anew..? A-New..? ANew..? (help!)

Well, in other words, though I've had a nerdfighter's account for over a year, I didn't really get into it. I was mainly here to stalk the Greens, because... Who wouldn't?

So now that I've gotten a handle on nerdfighters (and life in general), I'm gonna try to actively work this account by posting pictures, discussions, blogs, and whatever else I can think of.
I'll let you know when I'm out of ideas :)

Let you know that my firt concern here at nerdfighters is that THE TAB BUTTON DOES NOT WORK.… Continue

YES I have seen the slytherin hoodies and I NEED one. Hot Topic is my favourite store but I've never actually gotten anything there. I just mostly admire and then stare at their price tags in horror. One of my friends who isn't really "into" harry potter has gotten 2 hoodies there (Hogwarts and Gryffindor) and I am ridiculously jealous. I live in a rather wealty area where it's quite weird not be able to get a $40 jacket so I'm all left out =(

I've got meself a gift card to HT for my birthday though so a few more weeks of tutoring and I am getting that jacket! (you should get one too; then we can be twins lol)

cheers

did NOT like G/H. WAYY too awkward. I liked some of the R/Hr though.

I also liked the bathroom scene! He did it beautifully; it seemed very real (these last two sentences seem really dirty)

This one was so funny though! I dunno, I like it best. Maybe it was just the feeling of a midnight premiere that makes everything better. Everyone dressed up (including me, bedecked with my Slythi tie) and laughing at the same time and half the people raising their wands in the air at the end for Dumbledore. Going again today (for the 4th time). I keep that movie theater open!

lovely snowflake theory

Back to Harry Potter...

I saw it again today (for the third time) and I agree about Tom Felton's hair (though he is HOT. No denying it. Sizzle) but I did like it more that OotP. I thought that the humor was great in this film although I didn't like all the romance. Too much Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny tension for my liking. Did you like the romance?

lol it's fine; we all get busy and just forget sometimes ;)

So what did you think of HBP? I thought it was REALLY FREAKING AWESOME, but I need your opinion too

I read your About Me ^ and I find it strange that we're both 14, 5' 7" and taking Algebra II lol. I guess I'm not a unique snowflake after all!

I live in Scottsdale, which used to be called a suburb, but now has the population of a city =]

Yep, it comes out on July 15 and my birthday is July 14! So excited! (although they haven't started selling tickets yet =/ Laura NEEDS ticket)

So, what's new with you?

Overall I'll pleased with the movies and I too am totally psyched for the 6th to come out...when I told my sister of my plans to go three times the day it comes out (at midnight with my friends, during the day with my family, and then with my friends again in the evening), she immediately says, "What if they, you know, slaughter it?"

-sigh-

That girl can never be pleased

Aummmm....I don't know if they have the same director *off to wikipedia*
Yes, the director is the same for the last four movies (OotP, HBP, and the 2 DH films)

I just got a major shock! I didn't realize that they changed the date (again) for the movie...I kept thinking it was July 17th like the originally planned, but now it's July 15th! I'll be waiting in line at the theater now in the late hours of my fourteenth birthday...what a absolutely wonderful way to spend it =] Maybe I'll persuade my friends to bring me presents lol

We just can't get away from Harry Potter, can we?

I'm rereading the books too, but in between all the other books I have. I'm about to start on POA again.

Hahaha I like that "could have been subplot" thing...pretty friggin amazing. JKR has a gift to write a bunch of stuff that make the books much more interesting (but apparently, screenwriters don't approve of)

The director for the first two movies truly wanted to stay with the books, but the others decided that they had to make the films more marketable to everyone, not just the readers of the book. I like all the movies for different reasons, but I wish that there could be a combination of the two styles--an exciting movie worthy of the name of Harry Potter that actually kept the themes of the book in mind the whole way through.

Here's an idea!

Do you have Twitter? That might work nicely. :) I mean, I've got one, but I don't go on there very often, but it might make things easier for you. Or you could just make a blog post at the end of the week, and put up a list of the SotDs for that week, you know?

Best wishes on that flamenco show, Emily! I'm so jealous. I wish I could still take classes, or even dance regularly with anyone anymore. Sigh.

Break a leg, as they say!

Peace,
Nate

PS: You should study Spanish. Spanish is awesome. hehe

RAWR I hate the books that make teen seem like whiney babies
I also enjoy biographies...I was helping my dad move and he said I could take a break, my sister went off to play video games and I read about Bill Clinton.

Since I'm reading the teen section of my library in alphabetical order (...don't ask) I read every genre. I'm currently reading a fantasy book which isn't very promising.
