What Kind of Nerdfighter Are You?: Food/Books Nerdfighter

About Me:: I'm one of the "aging" Nerdfighters at the ripe old age of 34. I'm a proud SAHM mom to two boys. I love children (what kid isn't made of awesome?), books of all sorts, baking, and cooking. I like Tolkien way too much to ever be considered cool outside of Nerdfighteria, with Harry Potter coming in a close second. I get really immersed in the things I'm into, whether that be planning a Harry Potter theme week to celebrate the Deathly Hallows release, replete with homemade chocolate frogs and an advanced potion making class, or getting so excited about my living breathing sourdough bread starter that I could barely talk about anything else for weeks (I felt like a mad scientist! *cue evil laugh and thunderclap*). We have a lot of fun at my house. We play and laugh and pretend a lot. Life is fascinating and full and rich when you can get excited about all the little things...like a book or a tree or a perfect tomato.

It's -50C Here This Morning

...with the windchill. I just wanted to say it...-50C. Now that's cold...bitter, crushing, merciless cold. It makes each breath catch painfully in your lungs. It makes your eyelashes freeze together. It makes your bones ache and your toes and fingers numb within minutes, no matter how warmly you are bundled up. Mmmmmm, Christmas!

It's that time of year again, and my thoughts are turning to all the smells and tastes of the season...cinnamon and ginger, butter and vanilla, nuts, chocolate, turkey-roasting, cookies-baking...house elves bustling merrily around the kitchen...or if you're short on house elves, yourself in there, up to the elbows in chocolate truffles and gingerbread dough, humming "God Rest Ye Merry Hippogriffs" as you whip up a little batch of comfort and joy. yes the reno is going to be a rather protracted source of stress for me. the sawing off of the balcony part promises to be especially nerve wracking, although it vies with the 2 weeks of workmen in my tiny bachelor replacing the windows. they want me to give them 3 feet from the window in a space that windows run the length of and at my double bed is only 7 feet wide. that so should be fun O.o

i figure the universe must have some sort of master plan for me, and this is somehow part of it. *shakes fist at universe* seriously??? SERIOUSLY??? silly universe
