I completely understand where you are coming from. Sometimes these things become rather emotionally charged and it's easy to resort to prosaic name-calling and such. Of course I've done it myself, as have those of much greater intellect like Hitchens or Stephen Fry. But, no need to appologize. Though I certainly accept it and ask that you accept mine in return. I also appologize for getting into the mud-slinging match. It is difficult keeping a level head when one is arguing about things we are utterly passionate about. So, clean slate, and from this point on I will try to keep things above that level.
