Merry (late) Christmas to you too! Boredom is unfortunate. It sounds like you got some fantastic Christmas presents though! Heh. It took my parents a while to understand that I didn't like magazines and ornaments as well, but they get it now! So that's really happy.

Sword-fighting technique must have been interesting! Haha. Naming characters is one of my favorite parts of coming up with stories. I made a short film for a films class once... one of my characters was called Hale. It means strong. It's probably not medieval enough, but I really like the name! I was going to participate in P4A, but I was moving home from college, and my Internet wasn't cooperating. :( It was awful. I left about 2 comments, but then my Internet kept dying. Heh. Lettuce? That's kind of a unique job! It's also insane thinking about growing lettuce because there's a foot of snow on the ground here. XD Are you enjoying your summer other than the working and such though?

I just started marching band this year. And I mean, I had serious respect for them before, but after actually finding out how difficult it really is, I'm like, no way. Haha. I always had this idea that it was easier than it looked, because I thought it would literally be impossible to do that many different things at once. I figured there must be some secret trick to it or something. There isn't. It's as hard as it looks. That was an unpleasant surprise. Lol. I'm glad that I did it though. It's really fun! I play the clarinet, and I don't know if you've asked before or not either, so we'll just assume that you didn't. XD

Wow. I don't think I would be able to write that much... but if I did, it would be the same sort of thing you did, with the "oh, it's November 1st? Maybe I'll do NaNoWriMo..." I'm terrible at planning things. That still sounds like a really awesome story though! Did you have to do a lot of research for it or anything? I always hate trying to write historically based fiction because I don't want to get something horribly wrong. Not that I've written any historically based fiction, but I tried to once. It failed. I feel your pain in re-reading things. I cannot re-read anything that I write... like, even papers and things. I just turned in a 10 page research paper today. I never read over the whole thing. Like, I'll read over a paragraph or something, but I just can't do the whole thing. It's something of an issue. Good luck to you though!

Ahhhh! You finished season two!!! You are most certainly not a wimp! I was so depressed after that, and I cried for about 15 minutes too. My roommate did the same thing. It's so depressing!! I've always hated RTD for doing that to us. It was mean!

Good for you for doing NaNoWriMo! I was considering it, but I decided that I'm probably too busy (which turned out to be true). I've got a research paper due, which is going to be close enough to a novel I suppose, so maybe if I count that and the other hundred thousand papers I have to write this month I'll make 50,000. I'm still trying to think of a topic though. I was going to do it about the media and the Internet, but I'm kind of changing my mind. I don't know what I should do instead! It's difficult because it has to be about some sort of "fence" either literal or metaphorical, but we can't care too much about the issue, so... yeah. I'm working on that.

Marching bands are awesome to watch! You should look them up on youtube. I agree. I watch too many marching band videos. If you do, you should search for UW Whitewater Warhawk marching band! I don't think there are any videos from this year up, but I know that their show from last year is. I wasn't in it then, but a lot of my new friends were! Heh. It's too bad that you don't celebrate Halloween! Around here, you trick-or-treat when you're a kid (unless you're my friends and me. We didn't stop until last year), and once you're too old, there are parties and such. Sorry, I don't mean to make you feel worse! The history of Halloween is actually pretty cool though. You should look it up and tell your parents how it started!

I've never heard the word bach before... that's interesting! It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun! I have no idea what I'm going to do for Halloween yet. Usually, I've got tons of stuff to use at home, but I haven't been home since college started, so I only have normal clothes here. I would shop for one, but I don't have much money. Ah well. I'll figure something out. Bellatrix would be a really cool costume though! I have to start planning earlier next year! Lots of people watch scary movies, and I would if I wasn't doing anything else, but usually my friends watch Nightmare Before Christmas or Beetlejuice or something. We're Tim Burton nerds. Haha. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he would be pretty freaked out by that. Oh wow! That's unfortunate. I'm sure you'll do well anyway though! I have a funny story about a windmill too. Actually, it's not really my story. It's about my brother. Anyway, when he was in middle school, probably about 12 years old, his teacher drew something on the board and a girl in his class said "that kind of looks like a windmill." Then he said, "Your face kind of looks like a windmill." And he got a detention for it. It still makes me laugh.

Not too many new stories, but I got to march in a big marching band competition! The state high school band competition is held at my university, so they always invite my band to perform. It was really crazy because there were so many people there, and all of them know about marching band! So yeah. And then all of the high schoolers thought we were so awesome, but since my high school didn't have a marching band, it's only my first year, meaning that most of the high schoolers were more experienced than me! Anyway, I think we did pretty well, and it was lots of fun! A couple of my friends from my house came to visit this weekend, so it was nice to see them too. That's really about it though. Not much going on. I'm trying to figure out what to do for Halloween though! I can't think of anything! Is Halloween a big deal in New Zealand?

Ah, yes. I know how it is when you have nothing to write about. That's no fun. Anyway, it sounds like you had an amazing birthday! Lots of good presents! I'm glad that you love Doctor Who! I'd actually only seen one episode before I really started watching it, so I didn't know what to expect. I ended up loving both Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, so that's good! Hooray! I came across it in an interesting way too. Like, I noticed that a lot of nerdfighters loved it, but I didn't really think much about it. Then I saw that it was on television one night (at about 2 in the morning, actually, because it's not very popular here) and so I decided to watch it. I really, really liked it, but I still didn't LOVE it or anything. A few weeks later, after seeing more nerdfighter obsession, I decided to try watching it from the beginning. About 4 episodes in, and I was hooked. Haha. So that's my story. Not very interesting, really. It sounds like you're having fun with your other presents too! Which books did you get? And a ukulele! Wow! That's so cool! Haha. Today, my friend and I were sitting in the arts center, and some random guy pulled out a ukulele! We were like, "OMG! A UKULELE!" And then he started playing "I'll Make a Man out of You" from Mulan and singing. Like, really, really well. It was amazing. I applauded. He gave me a thumbs up. It was a good day. It's awesome that you've already learned a song too! Next step, learning Disney music! Haha. Sorry. I just found that to be beyond awesome. Anyone who transposes Disney music to a ukulele is officially awesome. It's my new rule. But yeah, I love Somewhere Over the Rainbow, so that's a great song to learn! I'm happy for you and your amazing birthday! University is still going well! There are lots of cool people here (such as the Disney ukulele guy, who might actually be in marching band with me). There's a lot of work, like a philosophy paper that's due on Friday. I still haven't started it. Hah. I really wanted to start early, but obviously I didn't, because I'm me. So yeah.
